The Rafters shut out the Scorpions for two innings and held a 1-0 lead. Scottsdale scored eight runs over its last five “ups” before Salt River answereed with two in the 7th to win, 8-3.

Seaver King returned to the lineup after being lifted for a pinch-hitter on Thursday (still no archive on the AFL site, but let’s not forget Hanlon’s Razor) and went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases and one assist on defense.

Ethan Petry once again played right field and had a double in four trips to the plate, though he hit into double play and struck out twice. He had one put out on defense.

Sam Petersen was in left field and batted ninth, but singled twice, scored twice, hit an RBI double, and launched a two-run HR (third of each for the extra-base hits). He fielded two hits and snagged a flyball.

The two teams switch venues and rematch tonight. Jake Bennett is expected to start for Scottsdale.
