AFL Update: Oct. 29, 2025

Scottsdale rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the late innings to take a 5-3 lead and survived an error in the 9th to hold on for a 5-4 win – the fourth straight for the Scorpions.

The usual suspects were in the starting lineup.

…Seaver King batted cleanup and played shortstop. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts at the plate and had a putout on a 3-6 DP.

…Ethan Petry got the Scottsdale scoring going with a two-run HR in the second as the #8 batter, but went down on strikes twice to finish 1-for-4 with a run scored. He had two putouts and a fielded a double in right field.

…Sam Petersen reached base twice on a single and a walk, scored a run, and was caught looking. He snagged two flyballs and fielded a single as the Scorpions left fielder.

…Jared Simpson was charged with an unearned run and put on two baserunners but also rolled a double play to preserve the lead and pick up the save.

First-place Scottsdale (12-5) visits second-place Surprise (10-6) this afternoon.
