Jake Bennett held the line with four runs of one-run relief as the Scorpions outslugged the Javelinas, 9-5.

Bennett struck out seven as the first man out of the ‘pen. He allowed a double and a single but did not issue a walk while throwing 61 pitches, 37 for strikes as he picked up the win.

Seaver King batted sixth as the Scottsdale DH and hit a first-inning double and scored as part of the Scottdale’s five-run 1st. He finished 1-for-5 with no walks and one whiff.

Sam Petersen followed King in the order and was the Scorpions left fielder. He reached base twice on a third-inning double and a walk in the 5th. Defensively he fielded one single and had no putouts or assists.

With the win, Scottsdale improved to 3-2, one game behind unbeaten Surprise. Tomorrow, the Scorpions host the Rafters. Sean Paul Liñan is expected to make the start.
