The Red Wings nearly overcame Zach Brzykcy’s in-game BP but fell one run shy to lose, 9-8. Riley Cornelio was dinged for three runs on two homers (four hits total) over five innings. He walked two and struck out seven for a serviceable AAA debut, but took the loss. A dishonorable mentin to Brzykcy for retiring just two of eight batters and letting in six to put Rochester into a 9-1 hole. The Red Wings scored one in the 7th, two in the 8th, and four in the 9th, highlighted by a pair of two-run singles by J.T. Arruda and Andrés Chaparro.

It was a wild 9th as Harrisburg blew a 4-3 lead in the top half, then Portand literally threw it away in the bottom half of the innings, enough that Max Romero Jr. was able to lumber home from second base to score the game-winning run. That made a winner out of Junior Santos despite his fourth blown save. Jarlin Susana returned to City Isle for the first time since April 23, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six. Kevin Made drove in two while connecting for two singles and drawing a walk while Phillip Glasser rached base twice (single, walk) and Seaver King doubled to lead the Sens offense. The Blue Rocks were shut out for the eleventh time this season, 10-0 on four hits. Josh Randall took the loss, strafed for ten hits and eight runs while walking one and striking out four over three and 2/3rds innings. Jackson Ross singled twice while Nate Rombach and Teo Banks singled once. Wilmington left on eight baserunners and went 0-for-5 with RISP.

Myrtle Beach scored in five of six “ups” while blanking Fredericksburg, 9-0 on four hits. It was the eleventh shutout of the season for the FredNats. R.J. Sales was rung up for four runs on six hits and three walks over three and a 1/3rds to take the loss. Cristhian Vaquero, Angel Feliz, Wyatt Henseler, and Christian Fagnant each had a single while Luke Dickerson and Randal Diaz each drew a walk.

In the nightcap—srsly, the game ended at 11:30—the Pelicans smacked a three-run HR in the bottom of the 8th to complete the doubleheader sweep, 5-3. Brayan Romero went the first four and gave up four hits, walked three, and struck out five. Merrick Baldo worked a scoreless 7th but gave up a single then the aforementioned Earl Weaver Special to take the loss, his second. (The Law Firm of) Wyatt Henseler singled three times and was bit by a pitch while Randal Diaz singled twice and drove in two to lead the FredNats attack.

Nauris De La Cruz doubled, walked, and drove in a run while Juan Obsipo tripled and scored run to pace the DSL Nationals offense.
