In a game that featured four lead changes and three ties, the Red Wings finally took the lead for good in the 7th and added two insurance runs in the 8th to secure an 8-5 win. Andrew Alvarez still has as many wins as you do after getting knocked from the box in the 5th with one out, four runs charged on seven hits (three HR) and four walks. He struck out three. Joan Adon got the benefit of a two-out error that Rochester on top as the 26-y.o. got the win despite putting on as many baserunners as he got out (four). Konnor Pilkington got the last five outs to earn the save. Nasim Nuñez and Yoyo Moarles both singled twice while José Tena singled, doubled, and drove in two (as did Morales) to lead the Rochester offense. Roster moves: RHP Zach Brzykcy optioned from Washington.

Travis Sykora was lifted after a scoreless inning with 19 pitches thrown to five batters (12 for strikes) with one walk allowed and three strikeouts. He did not appear to suffer an injury, however, it is not inconceivable the Nats may claim he is to have him skip next week’s Futures Game. It is also possible that this was planned to readjust his thowing schedule to make that appearance. And, of course, he may have been injured. Shake your Magic 8-Ball as needed.
Back to the game… Dustin Saenz tossed three scoreless inning as the first man out of the ‘pen to earn the win while Daison Acosta was perfect in his two innings to get the save. Max Romero Jr. singled twice, doubled once, scored once, and drove in two while Viandel Peña singled and hit an RBI triple to power the Senators offense.

With eight strong innings from Travis “Sunday” Sthele and six RBI Branden Boissiere, the Blue Rocks boiled the BlueClaws, 13-1. Sthele allowed the lone Jersey Shore run on two hits and a walk while striking out four while getting his fifth win. Boissiere hit an RBI single, a solo HR, and a grand slam that highlighted Wilmington’s five-run 8th inning. Caleb Farmer was the beer man in Wilmington’s 15-hit parade that saw five batters have multiple hits and seven batters reach base more than once.

Fredericksburg gave away a run in the top of the 10th on a dropped flyball but got it back plus the gamewinner in the bottom of the 10th to walk off Delmarva, 7-6 and win their fourth straight game. Bryan Polanco gave up a solo HR and two hits total while walking two and striking out six over five innings for a no-decision. Euri Montero came on in the 8th, letting in the tying tun but finished the game. He would pick up the win when the ShoreBirds returned the favor and committed an error to score the free runner then got a one-out single from Cristhian Vaquero to end the game. Francesco Barbieri singled, doubled, walked twice, scored once, and drove in run while Jorgelys Mora went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the FredNats attack.

The F-Nats broke out for four runs in the 5th to open up a 5-1 lead and held on to win, 6-4. Jose Feliz spun five innings of one-run ball on five hits and three walks. He struck out four and earnd his first win of the season. Elijah Green came to the plate four times and only struck out once, homering twice and walking once to power the FCL Nationals offense.

The DSL Nationals ran wild—eight stolen bases, none caught stealing—and rallied back from down 5-1 to tie, but DSL Rangers Red teed off on Jose Sanchez for three on two homers in the 8th to win, 8-5. Yaiker Torrelles got the start but didn’t make it out of the 2nd as the D-Rangers got to him for five runs on five hits and two walks. Greyson Gimenez and Anyel Manzueta combined for four and 1/3rd scoreless before Sanchez came on in the 7th and was lit up in the 8th. Brayan Cortesia singled twice, walked once, scored thrice, and stole five bases while Eddy Marmolejos and Juan Obispo both went 2-for-4 with a stolen base to power the D-Nats attack.
