Rochester was shut out for the fifth time this season as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre did the deed on four hits for a 12-0 win to take the series, 3-2. Andrew Alvarez remains winless as he was, um, railroaded for six runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks over four and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out three whie losing for the fifth time. Juan Yepez was the sole Red Wings batter to reach base twice and connected for the only extra-base hit.

The Senators scored three times on five singles in the 1st and held on to double up the Flying Squirrels, 4-2 and take the series by the same count. Hyun-Il Choi turned in his first quality start and won his second game with seven scoreless innings, three hits allowed, two walks issued, and six strikeouts. Yoyo Morales led the Harrisburg hit column with two singles and a double, followed by Nick Schnell with two safeties.

Wilmington scored its obligatory run in the 1st and was unable to throw the shutout necessary to make it stand up as they dropped their fifth straight, 9-1. Jake Bennett made his first High-A start since Aug. 30, 2023 and gave up a three-run HR and two hits total over three innings to suffer the loss. He walked two and struck out four. Brandon Pimentel and Marcus Brown both went 2-for-4 while Caleb Lomavita drove in the sole Blue Rocks run in an eight-hit, four-walk offense.

The FredNats briefly led this one 3-1 after three before giving up 14 runs the rest of the way, including seven in the 9th for a 15-5 loss in the series finale. Davian Garcia took the brunt of the beating with five runs let in on four hits, five walks, and a Robles over four innings. He struck out four while taking his second loss. Jorgelys Mota, Cristhian Vaquero, and Nick “Power to the” Peoples each went 2-for-5 and combined for for four doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored to lead the Fredericksburg offense.

The FCL Nationals have won back-to-back games just once, but as the old saw goes, it’s early. This week, it’s home games against the FCL Mets today and the FCL Cardinals on Saturday, and road games on Tuesday and Wednesday versus the FCL Marlins, and Friday againt the FCL Mets.
