Unlike last offseason, the Nats did not make very changes to the hitting coaches despite finishing dead-last on offense in Wilmington and Harrisburg, third-to-last in the FCL, and in the bottom third in the DSL. Whether this means the Nats tacitly believe the issue was with the talent and not the teacher is something I’m sure may be fodder for discussion.
It could also be that the Nats want to give the newer coaches a longer leash before making another change, which is not a bad thing [Insert obligatory reference to this ain’t football]. Even a MASN Commenter can understand that, given Mike Rizzo’s track record of keeping some of the same guys he’s worked with around for years if not decades.
