AFL Update: Nov. 1, 2024

Salt River led for about 10 minutes before the Mesa scorched the Rafters moundsmen for 11 runs in the 1st in a 17-4 defenestration yesterday afternoon.

Michael Cuevas was among the afflicted, as he let in both inherited runners and four more of his own while getting out of 1st and wobbling through the 2nd. He finished with six runs allowed on seven hits, walked none, struck out none, hit a batter, and threw a wild pitch. Thanks to two errors in the 1st, only the two runs he allowed in the 2nd inning were earned.

Robert Hassell started in centerfield and batted third. He went 1-for-4 with a strikeout and a stolen base and had one putout on defense.

Maxwell Romero Jr. was the backstop (sort of) for the Rafters. He saw four pitches skip past him, committed an error, and allowed another stolen base. At the plate, he doubled and walked.

Phillip Glasser batted ninth and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He played left field and chased down six batted balls.

Salt River (11-9) returns home to host Scottsdale (8-12).
