Rochester was shut out for the 9th time, 7-0 on six hits to drop a second straight game to Worcester. Spencer Watkins pitched into the 6th and allowed one urn on five hits, no walks, and five whiffs. He lost his sixth game. Jackson Cluff had the sole-extra base hit—a one-out double in the 3rd—and walked in the 8th. Jake Alu was the only batter to have multiple hits, with singles in his last two at-bats. The Red Wings went 0-6 with RISP and left on seven baserunners.

The Senators blew a 4-3 lead after six but posted a picket fence in the last three frames to take another one from the BaySox, 7-5. Kyle Luckham allowed the first four Bowie runs on six hits, including HR nos. 19 and 20. He walked none and struck out a season-best eight. Tyler Schoff got the last out of the 6th and pitched a scoreless 7th to get the win, his third. Jack Sinclair worked a 1-2-3 ninth for his sixth save. Yoyo Morales extended his hit streak to eight and led the Harrisburg hit column with three singles followed by Cayden Wallace with two safeties.

Wilmington was shut out Forrest Gump pause again, 1-0 on four hits. Bryan Cáceres took the loss despite throwing a serviceable five innings of one-run ball on four hits and three walks while striking out four. T.J. White and Marcus Brown both doubled while Max Romero and Armando Cruz both singled to account for the four (4) Blue Rocks hits.

The FredNats rallied for three in the 7th to break a 1-1 tie as they took another step closer to a playoff spot with a 4-1 win over the Hillcats. Travis Sthele turned in six innings of one-run ball on four this and three walks as he notched his fourth quality start and eighth no-decision. Adam Bloebaum fanned three in the top of the 7th to pick up the win while Alexander Meckley finished the game with two goose egges to earn the save. Kevin Bazzell singled and doubled while Nate Ochoa reached base three times with two singles and a walk to lead the Fredericksburg offense. Carolina and Salem both won to keep pace and keep the pressure on Fredericksburg.

Yesterday, MLB announced the schedule and assignment of teams to the six faux AFL franchises. This year, the Nats will sending their Rule 5 candidates amd injured players prospects to the Salt River Rafters and will be joined by the Diamondbacks, Rockies, Twins, and Yankees. Rosters will be revealed later this month. FWIW, last year the announcement came on Sept. 22.
