• Medina (H, 7) 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 0K
• Cate (SV, 2) ⅔ IP, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 1K
• Pinckney 1-2, R, BB, HBP, RBI

Rochester struck for two in the 1st and one the 2nd and the pitching stood up for a 3-2 win to stop a three-game slide. Thad Ward turned in his fourth quality start with both (ugh) Woo Sox runs allowed on four hits and two walks over six innings to win his eighth game. He struck out three. Adonis Medina worked a 1-2-3 seventh for the hold while Tim Cate was credited with the save for getting two outs before the rains came and ended the game. Andrew Pinckney reached base three times on a single, walk, and a Robles, scoring ahead of Riley Adams’s two-run double in the 1st. Roster moves: RHP Michael Rucker claimed on waivers, optioned by Washington; RHP Brad Lord activated from 7-Day I.L.; IF Carter Kibeoom placed on 7-Day I.L.; OF Travis Blankenhorm designated for assignment.
Harrisburg 6 Bowie 3 (10 inn.)
• Lara 5IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 5K
• Cuevas (W, 5-11) 2⅓ IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 0K
• Sinclair (SV, 7) 1IP, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 1K
• De La Rosa 3-5, R, RBI, SB, CS
• Arruda 2-5, R, 2K
• Lile 1-4, R, BB, RBI, SB
The BaySox evened things up with a three-run 7th but the Senators opened up the 10th with back-to-back singles to take a 6-3 lead that the ‘pen held for a 6-3 win. Andry Lara pitched five scoreless with a single, a walk, and five whiffs but the implosion in the 7th took away the win. Jeremy De La Rosa led the Harrisburg hit column with three singles, followed by J.T. Arruda with two safeties.
Brooklyn 3 Wilmington 1
• Susana 5IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 10K, WP
• Amaral (L, 1-2) 2IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 2K
• Stehly 1-3, BB
• White 1-4, 2B, RBI
The 7th was unkind to the Wilmington ‘pen as well as Brooklyn got to Wilmington for two to break a 1-1 deadlock and win, 3-1. Jarlin Susana struck out 10 again but gave up a run in his fifth and final inning to fall behind 1-0. Naturally that was because his teammates were being no-hit and shut out, but T.J. White remedied that with a two-out RBI double in the 6th. That would be it for the offense until Murphy Stehly got a Willie Mays Hayes single in the 9th for the second and final Blue Rocks hit.
Lynchburg 9 Fredericksburg 5
• Sykora 2IP, 5H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 3K, BK, PO @ 2B
• B. Sanchez (L, 1-7) 2IP, 5H, 3R, 2ER, 1BB, 1K
• Bazzell 3-4, 2B, 2RBI
• Peterson 2-4, RBI
• Green 1-5, HR(13), R(74), RBI(54), 4K(203), E(9)
Travis Sykora was moved up a day, which may explain his best imitation of Mason Denaburg as he gave up two runs on five hits over two innings in a 9-5 FredNats loss to the Hillcats. The loss went to Bryan Sanchez with three runs let in over two innings as Fredericksburg trotted out four relievers to “work on some things.” Kevin Bazzell led the offense with two single, a double, and three RBI while Sam Peterson had two safeties, and Elijah Green homered once and struck out four times to cross the 200-whiff barrier and extend his minor-league lead to nine.
