Rochester Red Wings, 22-17, 2nd Place I.L. East, 4½ GB – 60-52 Overall
The Red Wings split against the Bisons and fell another game back. Rochester returns home this week to host Syracuse for six with a matinee tomorrow.

Harrisburg Senators, 13-26, 6th place, 13GB, E.L. Southwest – 51-57 Overall
Harrisburg was walked off twice by Bowie on Saturday before the ‘pen was finally able to hold a lead on Sunday, preventing a six-game sweep. Richmond comes to town this week for six, including a Wet Nose Wednesday noon game. Trade pickup Cayden Wallace was moved from the 7-Day to the 60-Day I.L. in a move that was back-dated to August 7.

Wilmington Blue Rocks, 19-22, 5th Place, 3½ GB, Sally Lg. North – 48-53 Overall
The Blue Rocks dropped four of six to the BlueClaws and slipped into 5th place and another game back in the division. The Cyclones are back in town to play five night games and a Sunday day game. SSDL with OF Elijah Nunez, transferred to the 60-Day I.L. on August 4.



Fredericksburg Nationals, 26-16, 1st Place, 2GA, C.L. North – 58-44 Overall
Fredericksburg broke even against the Mudcats and will have one last opportunity to knock back the second-place team, which is now Salem. After that, it’s a two-week road trip against C.L. South teams before finishing game nos. 47-53 (give or take) against Lynchburg.

Meanhwhile, Travis Sykora was named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for second straight week for his six perfect innings on Friday night. The FredNats have also announced that the top two 2024 Nats picks – SS Seaver King and Caleb Lomavita – will join the team this week. No word yet on who will be released or come down with Hellenic flu in a corresponding move.

The D-Nats tied the game at 4-4 with a four-run 4th but were only able to push across one more run. Hector Liriano’s two-out RBI double was the only hit in 14 RISP chances as the DSL Nationals left on 11 baserunners. Marlon De La Cruz made his tenth start but was knocked from the box with one out in the third with four runs let in on five hits and two walks. He struck out three. Jeffrey Familia stranded two while getting out of the third and allowed a run in the 5th, which was enough to take the loss. Angel Feliz led the D-Nats hit column with two singles and a double, followed by Angel Requena, who reached base four times on two singles and two walks.
