The Bisons got single runs in the 2nd and 6th while the Red Wings got a solo HR from Dylan Crews to lose, 2-1. Brad Lord gave up one unearned run on two hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four while losing his second AAA game. Crews, Drew Millas, and Darren Baker each went 2-for-4 to account for six of the eight Rochester hits, none of which came in nine RISP chances as the Red Wings left on eight baserunners, including two in the top of the 9th. Roster moves: RHP Joan Adon, IF Trey Lipscomb optioned from Washington; SS José Tena recalled to Washington.

Harrisburg rallied for single runs in five of seven “ups,” and took a 5-4 lead into the 7th only to lose on a two-out, two-run HR for 6-5 loss. Marquis Grissom suffered the blown-save-loss, giving up a leadoff single and the game-winning homer. The walkoff loss ruined a career night for C.J. Stubbs, who racked up ten total bases on a double and two homers while going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI.

SSDG – the Senators couldn’t hold a one-run lead and fell by one instead as the BaySox swept the doubleheader with a 3-2 walkoff win. Tyler Stuart registered 13 of 17 outs by way of the K, letting in an unearned run on five hits. Jack Sinclair got the last out of the 6th and then imploded in the 7th, giving up two walks, a single, and a double to turn the 2-1 lead into the final score. J.T. Arruda and Yoyo Morales both hit solo HRs to lead Harrisburg’s five-hit, one-walk offense.

In the opener, Jersey Shore rallied for three in the 5th to open up a 2-1 game en route to a 5-2 win over Wilmington. Riley Cornelio notched his 10th loss, giving up all five runs on five hits (one HR) and four walks over four and 2/3rds. He struck out three. Marcus Brown was the sole Blue Rock to reach base twice (single, walk) while Murphy Stehly had an RBI single to pace the seven-hit, one-walk offense.

The BlueClaws jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 3rd but the Blue Rocks answered with three in the 4th and held on for a 3-2 win to split the twinbill. Seth Shuman gave up both Jersey Shore runs on five hits and three walks over five innings for his first A+ win. Chance Huff worked around a walk in the 6th for the hold while Richard Gusach cordero’d around two baserunners in the 7th to get the save. Jared McKenzie and Murphy Stehly both went 1-for-3 with an RBI double while Marcus Brown delivered the third and final run on an RBI single to lead the Wilmington offense.

Fredericksburg hung a four-spot on Carolina in the 5th to erase a 1-0 deficit and won, 4-1. Alex Clemmey needed 70 pitches to get 12 outs, allowing the Mudcats run on a walk, balk, and a two-out single in the 2nd. The “W” went to Bubba Hall with goose eggs in the 5th and 6th while Anthony Arguelles cordero’d areound a single and a walk in the 7th to earn the save. Brandon Pimentel (single, double), Everett Cooper (double, walk), and Cristhian Vaquero (single, walk) each reached base twice to power the FredNats attack.

The FredNats were nearly shut out before Brandon Pimentel homered to lead off the bottom of the 7th to tie the game at 1-1. It would be the third and final hit as the Mudcats answered with two in the 8th to take the nightcap, 3-1. Travis “Sunday” Sthele turned in his second quality start with six innings of one-run ball on four hits and four walks while striking out two. Brian Bollencbacher, who avoided the loss in the 7th with a Nick “Power to the” Peoples and Nate Rombach executing a 9-3-2 putout for the third out, let in the free runner and one of his own in the 8th. Pimentel also doubled while Nate Ochoa singled to round out Fredericksburg’s three-hit pestering of Carolina pitchers.

The DSL Nationals pitchers were unable to combine for the shutout necessary for the offense generated in a 7-1 loss. Juan Reyes lost for the third time as he let in the first run on two hits, no walks, and three whiffs over the first two innings. Eddie Marmolejos and Angel Requena each went 1-for-3 with a single while Angel Feliz and Feldi Tavarez both drew a walk.
