Two critical baserunning errors in the 4th cost the Red Wings as they fell to the Storm, 1-0 in 10 innings. The second came on the very next at-bat when the far-less-fleet-of-foot Chaparro, who had taken third base on Baker’s TOOTBLAN, tried to score on on a tapper to shortstop with the infield drawn in and was thrown out in a rundown. Rochester went 0-for-9 with RISP overall, including back-to-back whiffs after Drew Millas doubled with one out in the 7th. Andrew Alvarez pitched into the 6th for the first time at AAA, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out four. Luis Reyes took the loss when Brady House’s throw in to home sailed high wide, enabling the free runner to score.

The final run came with the help of back-to-back wild pitches after Elijah Green’s leadoff double. It would prove to be the diffrerence as Bubba Hall put on four baserunner in the 8th and all four came in to score, with the “help” of an error and a two-out, two-run double surrendered by Matt Bollenbacher. In the 9th, the 24-y.o. Virginia Beach native walked two but cordero’d around both of them to earn the save, his first as a pro.

Darrel Lunar went the first four and allowed no hits and two walks while striking out five. Feldi Tavarez’s two-run HR erased a 1-0 deficit but Jean Robles let in the tying run in the 8th for the blown save.
