Rochester vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre – PPD
Game Three of the Rochester-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre series was rained out. They’ll shoot to make it up tonight with twi-night doubleheader.

The rains held off in Central PA but perhaps that wasn’t a good thing as Portland shut out Harrisburg, 8-0. Todd Peterson was the opener and the losing pitcher as the Sea Dogs jumped on him for three runs on three hits and two walks in the 1st. Yoyo Morales singled, walked, and doubled while Daylen Lile doubled once and struck out twice – one of 11 on the night for the Senators during their 13th shutout of the season.

Aberdeen 4 Wilmington 2
• Cáceres 6IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 7K
• Arias (L, 4-3) 1IP, 1H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 0K
• Vega 2-4, R, PB
• Wallace 1-1, R, BB, RBI

Wilmington jumped out to a 2-0 lead with single runs in the 1st and 3rd, but the bullpen wasn’t up to the task as Aberdeen got three runs late to win 4-2. Bryan Cáceres notched his third straight quality start… and third straight no-decision, giving up one run on three hits, no walks, and seven whiffs over six. The loss went to Wander Arias, who let in two in the 8th on a single and a sac fly after issuing two walks. Onix Vega led the Blue Rocks five-hit barrage with a pair of singles while Cayden Wallace came out of witness protection to draw a walk in the 1st and score ahead of T.J. White’s triple. Roster moves: 3B Cayden Wallace assigned from Harrisburg for MiLB rehab.

Kannapolis 8 Fredericksburg 7
• Roman 2IP, 4H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 4K
• Bollenbacher (L, 1-2) 1IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 0K
• Green 3-4, 3R, BB, 2B, 0K, 2SB
• King 2-5, R, 3B, RBI
• Rombach 2-5, 2RBI

The FredNats rallied for three in the 8th and three in the 9th to erase a 7-1 deficit but were walked off for an 8-7 loss, which reduced their lead over the Mudcats to 1/2 a game. Angel Roman got the start and gave up a run over two innings on four hits and a walk. He struck out four. Matt Bollenbacher took the loss as he gave up a double-single-single sequence in the 9th after pitching a scoreless 8th. Elijah Green reached base four times, scored three times, and stole two bases while Nate Rombach singled twice and drove in two to lead the Fredericksburg offense. Roster moves: RHP Merrick Baldo placed on the 7-day I.L.
