Rochester got seven strong innings from Thad Ward and four runs in the bottom of the 7th as they won their fourth straight, 7-3. Ward gave up a run on solor HR in the 7th and four hits total and did not issue a walk as he won for the sixth time. He struck out six. Darren Baker led the Red Wings 11-hit parade with two singles and a two singles, a double, and four RBI, followed by newcomer Andrés Chaparro with a 2-for-4 mark. Roster moves: IF Andrés Chaparro assigned from Washington.

Akron 1 Harrisburg 0 – SUSP.
The skies opened up in the bottom of the 2nd and rained hard enough to make the field unplayable. They’ll resume the game tonight and then play a seven-innng game, weather permitting.

Wilmington’s “hitters” reclaimed the lead among the affiliates with its twelfth shutout, a 4-0 no-hitter. José Atencio took the loss, givng up all four Greenville runs on seven hits (two HR) and a walk over five innings. He struck out four. The Drive lost the perfect game on a Robles to Phillip Glasser, then committed an error to get the only runner into scoring position who was retired at third on a 6-5 putout. Matt Suggs drew a walk in 9th for the fourth and final Blue Rock to reach base.

The FredNats ‘pen took turns holding beers, but were unable to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as the Hillcats fell, 9-7. Brayan Romero allowed two unearned runs on two hits and a walk over four innings for a no-decision in his Low-A debut. The “W” went to Austin Amaral, who gave up a run over three innings on three hits and two walks. Christhian Vaquero walked, drove in two, and doubled three times while Brenner Cox singled twice, walked once, and plated two to lead the Fredericksburg offense.
