The Red Wings got three in the 1st and three in the 5th, but couldn’t push across a seventh run and fell to the (ugh) Woo Sox, 7-6. Two extra days of rest made no difference as Thad Ward did his usual 5th-innng exit after giving up five runs on three homers and five hits total over four and a 1/3rd innings. He walked two and struck out four. The loss went to Tim Cate on two-run HR while getting the last two outs of the 5th. Alex Call and Brady Lindsly both singled twice while Dylan Crews reached base three times on walk, hit-by-pitch, and a single as the Rochester offense converted nine singles and four walks into six runs, going 4-for-8 with eight runners left on base.
Richmond 5 Harrisburg 0
• Luckham (L, 3-6) 5⅓ IP, 11H, 5R, 5ER, 0BB, 4K, HBP

Harrisburg got five singles and three walks and had none of them cross the plate as Richmond handed them their 10th shutout, 5-0. Kyle Luckham gave up all five Flying Squirrel runs on 11 hits over five and a 1/3rd innings. He walked none, struck out four, and hit a batter. Dérmis Garcia singled twice and walked once while Cody Wilson, Daylen Lile, and Cortland each had one hit to round out the Senators hit column.

• De La Rosa 1-4, 2B(10), 2RBI
A five-run seventh put the Blue Rocks in the driver’s seat—minus any jiving since it was only Wednesday night—as they tripled up the Cyclones, 6-2. Bryan Cáceres scattered six hits over five scoreless innings with two walks and four whiffs to pick up his third win. T.J. White (two singles) and Jeremy De La Rosa (double) while Max Romero walked, doubled, and scored twice to power the Wilmington offense.
Carolina vs. Fredericksburg – PPD
The band of heavy thunderstorms that stretched from I-81 from Lynchburg to Leesburg came rolling eastward in Fredericksburg just in time to postpone last night’s game. They’ll shoot to make it up tonight.
