Syracuse built a 7-0 lead after three “ups” before Brady House broke up the shutout bid with an Earl Weaver Special with Stone Garrett and Dylan Crews added RBI singles to make it 7-5. The Mets got one back to make it 8-5 then both teams’ bullpens traded zeroes for the rest of the night. Jackson Rutledge failed to go five innings for the 11th time in 17 starts as he was charged with all eight runs on eight hits (two HR) and four walks over three and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out two (2). Travis Blankenhorn led the Rochester hit column with two doubles while Dylan Crews and Joey Meneses both had a single and two walks. Roster moves: RHP Spenser Watkins placed on the 7-Day I.L.

Paul Witt’s one-out single in the bottom of the 10th was just the sixth hit of the entire game, but it was enough to push the Senators past the Fisher Cats, 1-0. It made a winner out of Jack Sinclair, who struck the last two batters in the top of the 10th with the free runner at third base. Chase Solesky started the gand spun five innings of two-hit, one-walk ball with two whiffs, followed by Zach Brzkycky with two goose eggs and Todd Peterson with one before Sinclair came on in the ninth. J.T. Arruda and Andrew Pinckney also singled to round out Harrisburg’s three-hit barrage. Roster moves: LHP Lucas Knowles placed on the full-season I.L.

Phillip Glasser’s two-run HR in the top of the 10th capped off a three-run rally to which Aberdeen had no answer for an 8-5 Wilmington win. Glasser had singled twice, walked once, and stolen three bases as the Blue Rocks had nine hits and nine walks the night after getting none and three. Jose Atencio went the first five innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on nine hits (one HR) and no walks. He struck out like Aaron Taylor-Johnson at a London singles bar (nada). The win went to Miguel Gomez after grounding the IronBirds in the 8th and 9th innings while Richard Guasch pitched a 1-2-3 tenth for the save.

The FredNats rallied for four runs in the top of the 9th, only to give it away in the bottom half for another walkoff loss to Salem, 7-6. Bubba Hall’s errant pickoff throw allowed the leadoff walk to get to third with nobody out. He got the next batter on a strikeout but Salem’s Natanael Yuen bounced one over the head of Everett Cooper for the game-winner. Travis Sykora was knocked for three runs on four hits and four walks for his earliest exit since June 5. Jose Colmenares and Elijah Green both reached base four times with three singles and a walk to lead the Fredericksburg’s 12-hit parade. Roster moves: IF John McHenry reassigned from Wilmington.
FCL Nationals, 24-27, T2nd Place FCL East, 14GB
FCL Nationals split the four games played last week and are scheduled to play five games in four days this week, presuming the doubleheader slated for Wednesday isn’t canceled. They’ll need to win at least four times to avoid a losing season, though we may be the only ones who remotely care about that.

Today is the DSL All-Star game, but we’ll have to wait until this afternoon to see who, if anyone, from the D-Nats appeared. Thanks to makeup game on Wednesday, the usual day off for the DSL Nationals, it’s a six games in six days this week.
