The Red Wings bullpen gave up six runs in an 8-2 loss to the Mets. Thad Ward failed to go five innings for the eighth time in 14 starts, though he only gave up two runs on four hits and four walks over four and a 1/3rd innings. The loss went to Adonis Medina, who let in the go-ahead run in the 6th after getting out of the 5th. Dylan Crews’s first AAA hit was a solo HR, one of two extra-base hits on the night for Rochester. Darren Baker and Harold Ramírez led the eight-hit barrage with two singles apiece. Roster moves: RHP Robert Gsellman released.

Harrisburg missed an opportunity to reduce the magic number to two as the ‘pen impoded for two runs in the 9th on two-out single after the bases were loaded with two walks and a hit batsman. Josiah Gray made his second rehab start and gave up two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings. Daison Acosta lost his first game as he gave up the aforementioned two runs in the 9th. Brady House doubled twice and drove in a run while Dérmis Garcia homered in the 9th to lead the Senators offense.

Wilmington pitchers walked 11 yet somehow stayed within striking distance all night. The offense, however, lived up to its dead-last ranking in the Sally League, barely avoiding the shutout with a four singles and four walks in between 15 whiffs. Riley Cornelio walked five and struck out four over five innings, giving up both Aberdeen runs for his sixth loss. Gavin Dugas and Elijah Nunez were the only two Blue Rocks to reach base twice, both drawing a walk and getting a safety. Roster moves: RHP Cole Henry assigned from Harrisburg for MiLB Rehab.

Elijah Green’s two-run single in the 5th snapped a 1-1 deadlock as Fredericksburg took Game Two, 4-1. Bryan Polanco notched his first career quality start —and the second for the FredNats this season—with six innings of one-run ball on four hits and a walk. He struck out eight. Bubba Hall followed with two goose eggs for the hold while Anthony Arguelles cordero’d around two walks in the 9th for the save. Green, Cristhian Vaquero, and Roismar Quintana each had two hits with Vaquero connecting for his 10th double to lead the eight-hit night for Fredericksburg.

The F-Nats capitalized on an error in the 7th to tie it at 4-4 but could not push the free runner across before the F-Astros walked them off, 5-4 in nine innings. Austin Amaral “worked on some things” for two runs on two hits and four walks over and inning and 2/3rds. The loss went to Adam Bloebaum, who gave up back-to-back singles to the two (2) batters faced to take the loss. 23-y.o. Nate Rombach’s two-out, two-run HR forced extras and drove in Carlos Batista, who reached on the aforementioned error. Both Rombach and Batista went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while the rest of the lineup went 2-for-24.
