Jackson Rutledge turned in another quality start as Rochester pummeled Syracuse, 9-1 to stop a four-game slide. The Nats #1 in 2020 pick allowed the Mets run on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings to even his won-loss record at 4-4. Joe LaSorsa, Adonis Medina, and Tim Cate each turned in a scoreless inning in relief. Darren Baker extended his hit streak to five with two single and two double while driving in five; James Wood homered and drove in two before he was lifted for a pinch-runner in the 8th, shortly before the game was delayed for 17 minutes by rain.

The Senators dropped another close one to the Yard Goats, 3-1, and are no longer in control of their own destiny for the first-half title. Erie will have to lose at least one of the two ballgames it plays today in Somerset for Harrisburg to win the division. Michael Cuevas lost for the seventh time despite allowing just two runs over six innings for his third quality start. Brady House homered in the bottom of the 1st while Dérmis Garcia and Cortland Lawson both singled to round out Harrisburg’ three-hit assault with no walks and one hit batsman.

The IronBirds erased an early 2-1 deficit with three in the 3rd and held on for 4-2 win over the Blue Rocks. José Atencio gave up all four Aberdeen runs on three home runs, seven hits total over six innings. He walked two and struck out four over six innings. Viandel Peña, Jared McKenzie, and Kevin Made combined for four hits, including doubles by Made and Peña. The rest of the lineup went 0-for-18 with one walk.

The FredNats extended their win streak to four games with a 6-2 win over the Wood Ducks. Marc Davis went five innings for the first time this season and won for the first time, too as he shut out Down East on two hits and one walks while striking out a career-high nine batters. Seven of the nine Fredericksburg batters got a hit, led by Brandon Pimentel with a single and a double and Jose Colmenares with a pair of singles.

The FCL Nationals rallied twice for three runs as they doubled up the FCL Astros, 8-4. Leuris Portorreal went five full for the second straight start, allowing one run on a home run while issuing a walk and striking out three. 23-y.o. Nate Rombach plated four with three hits, including a two-run HR while 18-y.o. Carlos Tavares walked twice and doubled twice to lead the F-Nats offense.

The D-Rangers Red scored in each of its first four “ups” and cruised to a 5-2 win over the D-Nats. Jhoan Thomas gave up all five runs on five hits and a walk to lose for the first time. Deiver Oliveros and Greyson Gimenez combined for four and 2/3rds of shutout ball, but the offense only mustered an 8th inning run to make as they collected just four hits and three walks. Dashyll Tejeda drew two of the three walks while Rohan Culmer had the sole extra-base hit, a double in the 8th that turned into the second run on a wild pitch and a balk.
