Rochester put up three-spots twice as they took a 3-2 series lead with an 8-2 win over St. Paul. Jackson Rutledge ran out of gas in the 5th, leaving with two out and two in scoring postion. Joe La Sorsa got the third out to strand them, then added a goose egg in the 6th to get the win. Rutledge finished with two runs allowed on four hits and four walks while striking out five. Stone Garrett and Darren Baker both reached three times while Travis Blankenhorn and Drew Millas each had three RBIs to power the Rochester offense.

Dérmis Garcia’s grand slam in the 9th put this one away as the Senators evened up the series with a 7-3 win. Andrew Alvarez won his fourth game with five innings of one-run ball on two hits and two walks while setting down six on strikes. Samuel Reyes put up donuts in the 6th and 7th to earn the hold. Andrew Pinckney reached base five times with two walks, two singles, and a double while Dylan Crews finished the month of May with his seventh multihit game to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Wilmington got two in the 9th to make this look closer than it was as Bowling Green doubled ’em, 8-4. Rodney Theophile took the loss, his third, as he gave up three runs on seven hits over four and 2/3rds innings. He walked none and struck out seven. After Miguel Gomez stranded a runner for Theophile in the 5th and pitched a scoreless 6th, the Blue Rocks ‘pen took turns holding beers, letting in five runs over the Hot Rods’ final two “ups.” Wilmington collected 10 hits, with Phillip Glasser, Max Romero, and Will Frizzell getting two apiece.

The FredNats rallied for two in the 7th and three in the 8th as they tripled up the Wood Ducks, 6-2. Jarlin Susana went five full innings for the first time in 2024 (third time in his career) and struck out a career-best of nine while giving up one hit, no runs, and one walk. He was rewarded with a no-decision when Kevin Rodriguez couldn’t cover for Brandon Pimentel’s error (one of four on the night for Fredericksburg) and let in the tying run in the 6th. Rodriguez would get the win, though Dannel Diaz (BB, HBP, WP, 2-1 IR-S) nearly made it two blown saves in one night. Nate Ochoa and Brenner Cox both homered while Roismar Quintana and Christhian Vaquero both went 2-for-4 to lead the FredNats attack.

The FCL Nationals plated three in the 7th on one (1) hit and five walks as they hooked the FCL Marlins, 6-2. Seth Shuman made his second appearance and first start since 2022, but “worked on some things” for two runs on four hits over two and 2/3rds. He walked none and struck out four. Zach Brzykcy was the winner, tossing two scoreless in relief while Andy Luis got the hold with a similar line. Winder Diaz singled twice, walked twice, scored once, and drove in a run to lead the hit column while Elijah Nunez drew three of the 11 walks drawn by the F-Nats.
