Rochester knocked Scranton/Wilkes-Barre off the tracks with a four-run 1st and did a Gandy dance in the 9th for an 8-5 win. Spenser Watkins went the first four innings and was dinged for three runs (one earned) on four hits, three walks, and two Robles. Tim Cate struck out four of five batters in the middle innings to get the win while Rico Garcia got the last two outs while stranding a runner in the 9th for the save. James Wood singled, doubled, and walked while Jackson Cluff singled twice, scored twice, drove in one and stole a base to pace the Red Wings’ offense. Roster moves: OF Victor Robles MLB rehab ended (returned to Washington); LF Joey Gallo MLB rehab transferred from Fredericksburg; OF Alex Call optioned from Washington.

Dérmis Garcia’s two-run double in the 7th effected the sixth and final lead change as the Senators outslugged the Fisher Cats, 7-5. Andrew Alvarez got the Jack Morris win (his 1st of ’24) with all five runs allowed on eight hits (three HR) over six innings. Nash Walters got the last four outs, stranding a runner in the 8th, to pick up his fourth save. Yoyo Morales led Harrisburg’s 13-hit parade with three singles and a triple, followed by Dylan Crews and Andrew Pinckney with a single and a double apiece.

Wilmington tanned Jersey Shore pitchers for two hits, including a solo homer by Branden Boisserie, but did not throw the shutout need to win, 6-1. Bryan Caceres took the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits and three walks over four and 1/3rd innings. He struck out three. Terone Harris singled to break up the no-hitter in the 3rd while Viandel Peña and Paul Witt each drew a walk round out the Blue Rocks offense.

Brenner Cox’s two-run HR to lead off the 10th stood up to three walks by Mason Denaburg as the FredNats clipped the Riverdogs, 5-4. Bryan Sanchez didn’t make it ouf of the 3rd inning for the third time in five starts, letting in two runs on three hits, two hit batsmen, and two walks over two and a 1/3rd innings. Thomas Schultz picked up the win with goose eggs in the 8th and 9th innings while Denaburg got the double-play ball to send the bases-loaded one-out threat he created for his first career save. Roster moves: IF Marcus Brown demoted from Wilmington; OF Jeremy De La Rosa assigned from Wilmington for MiLB rehab; RHP Mikey Tepper placed on the 7-Day I.L.

We were unable to confirm if tempers flared when the FCL Mets went for two after their second touchdown in a 1-0, one-hit shutout of the FCL Nationals. Reminder: The regular season ends on July 25. The Rule 4 Draft is July 14 – 16. The start date for the DSL is still TBD. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
