The F-Nats were unable to deliver the clutch hit, going 1-for-10 with RISP including two missed chances in the 7th to drop the season opener to the F-Mets, 4-3. Starter Camilo Sanchez gave up the first three runs on three hits (one HR) and three walks over an inning and 2/3rds. The loss went to Doimil Perez on two singles in the bottom of the 6th with an “assist” from a throwing error that somehow did not render the run unearned despite the the game-winning hit not leaving the infield. Geraldi Diaz collected a double and an RBI while Andy Acevedo singled, walked, and stole two bases to lead the FCL Nationals’ offense. Roster moves: C Geraldi Diaz reassigned from Wilmington for MiLB rehab.
