The Red Wings sent 11 men to the plate in the top of the 5th and six came around to score to take a 9-0 lead. Starter and winning pitcher DJ Herz faltered in the 5th, giving up a two-run HR after issuing the second of his three walks on the night. Luis Reyes and Tim Cate handed off their beers for one run in the 5th and three in the 6th before Amos Willingham came on with the bases loaded and the tying run at the plate with two down and got the final out. Darren Baker turned in his 12th multihit game with three singles while Alex Call walked, singled, and doubled, and Juan Yepez launched a two-run HR to lead the Rochester offense. Roster moves: SS Jackson Cluff reassigned from Harrisburg; RHP Stephen Nogosek released.

Harrisburg rallied from a 6-1 deficit in the late innings, cashing in three straight walks in the 7th to get three, and taking advantage of a walk, wild pitch, and two errors to score two gift runs in the 8th that tied it up. The RubberDucks got three in the 10th but let the Senators back into the game when second baseman Aaron Bracho charged and ole’d a infield chopper into a two-run single for J.T. Arruda, who returned the favor by trying to score from 1st with one out on a Lane Thomas double that tied the game. After the two teams traded zeroes in the 11th, the ‘Ducks got their 10th run in the 12th to which the Sens had no answer for the 10-9 loss.

The Blue Rocks scored in each of their last four “ups” to dethrone the Emperors, 5-1. Luke Young labored through four scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk, and fanning two. Nick Pogue let in an inherited runner to get charged with a blown save but picked up the win. Marquis Grissom closed out the game with two scoreless innings to earn his fourth save. Phillip Glasser doubled once and singled twice while Daylen Lile’s second hit was a two-run HR in the top of the 9th that put the game on ice.

Jarlin Susana threw into the 5th for the first time this season but lost for the sixth time in eight starts. [Insert obligatory reference to age here] He was charged with six runs on six hits and five walks while striking out five in four-plus innings. The FredNats ‘pen did its part to keep things close, with three relievers combining for five scoreless innings. The offense was held to five hits, none of which came with RISP. Brenner Cox broke up the shutout with a two-run HR in the 7th.

The F-Nats broke out for multiple runs three times as they won for the third time this week, 10-1 over the F-Cards. Camilo Sanchez bounced back to win his first game of the year, tossing five innings of one-run ball on two hits, three walks, and a career-best seven whiffs. Carlos Tavares led the 12-hit parade with a double, three singles, and two RBI, followed by Enmanuel with three singles and one run driven in.
