Rochester put on a show of power (4HR) and speed (4SB) but the bullpen faltered, coughing up four runs in the 8th to lose, 14-12. Thad Ward was sent packing after six runs and seven hits allowed over two and 2/3rds while walking two and striking out two. The (dreaded) blown-save-loss was put on the caboose of Stephen Nogosek, who walked two and gave up three hits for the aforementioned four runs in the 8th. James Wood led the prospects with three RBI, a single, a stolen base, and his 5th HR. Joey Gallo, Alex Call, and Erick Mejia also went deep in the Red Wings’ 14-hit parade. Roster moves: RHP Matt Barnes elected free agency; C Jarrett Gonzales placed on the Development List.

Harrisburg 4 New Hampshire 0
• Lord (W, 2-1) 6IP, 2H, 0R, 3BB, 5K, HBP
• Ribalta 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Crews 1-4, R, HR, RBI
• House 1-4, R, HR, RBI

Four Sens pitchers combined to shut out the Fisher Cats, 4-0, on four hits. Brad Lord led the effort with his first quality start with two hits and three walks allowed while strking out six. That earned him his second win. Dylan Crews, Brady House, and Andrew Picnkney all homered, with Robert Hassell scoring ahead of the Crews blast, having extended his on-base streak to 22 games with a walk. Roster moves: RHP Cole Henry placed on the 7-Day I.L.

Jersey Shore 7 Wilmington 3
• L. Young (L, 2-1) 4⅓ IP, 5H, 5R, 5ER, 4BB, 1K, 2HR, HBP, PO @ 1B
• Huff 1⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 3K, 1-0 IR-S
• Frizzell 3-3, R, BB
• Lile 1-5, R, HR, RBI

Wilmington’s skid went to three games while Jersey’s streak went to eight as the BlueClaws prevailed, 7-3. Luke Young took the loss, giving up five runs on five hits (two HR) over four and a 1/3rd innings. Will Frizzell reached base four times on three singles and a walk while Daylen Lile led off the game with his first HR of 2024.

Fredericksburg 11 Charleston 8
• Atencio (W, 3-1) 6IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 6K, HBP
• K. Rodriguez 1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Baca 3-3, 4R, 2BB, 2B
• Brown 3-4, 3R, 2BB, 2-2B, RBI
• Cox 1-4, R, HR(3R), 5RBI

After six the FredNats led 8-2. Then like last call at a small-town bar, things got ugly late with Charleston scoring six runs (five unearned) and Fredericksburg scoring three times in the 9th with the help of an error, a walk, and a Robles. That would be the difference in an 11-8 win that extended the FredNats win streak to three. Marcus Brown continues to dispute his demotion, reaching base with five times with a single, two walks, and two doubles while Tyler Baca scored four times on two safeties, two walks, and a double.
