Jacob Young was the sole watchlister in the starting lineup as the 24-y.o. played CF and batted ninth. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Washington rallied for one in the 6th, four in the 6th, and five in th 8th with the majoriy of the damage done by the guys coming off the bench:
- James Wood subbed for Lane Thomas in RF in the 6th and was 0-for-1 with a strikeout. He was hit by a pitch in the 7th and came arond to score. In the 8th, he struck out.
- Drew Millas was the second backstop and went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI.
- Brady House replaced Nick Senzel at 3B and was 2-for-2 with a stolen base and a run scored.
- Trey Lipscomb followed Luis García Jr. and was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.
- Dylan Crews subbed for Young in CF and went 0-for-1 with a walk and strikeout.
The win brought the Nats back to .500 at 8-8. The rubber-armed TBD is listed as the starter for tomorrowe night’s game vs. the Mets in West Palm Beach. The game will be broadcast locally on 106.7FM

Following the game, RHP Thad Ward, who was the winning pitcher for pitching the 6th ahead of the Nats taking the lead, was also optioned to Rochester. The Nats’ 2022 Rule 5 pick had been stashed on the IL and in the bullpen last summer and will reportedly be used again as a starting pitcher.
