As we delve deeper into this decade, which is now starting to have a sci-fi feel to it, it’s important to remember and be thankful for these traditions, whatever yours may be.
Some people like turkey, others prefer ham. Some like chicken (*ahem*) while others opt for none of the above. What you eat is probably not as important as where you eat or with whom you eat. Maybe it’s your family… or maybe it’s your friends.
That’s all. I’d like to keep it simple this year and be thankful that I’m up and not crying, to borrow from an apocryphal Norwegian saying. It’s a slippery slope from nostalgia to weltschmerz – better to focus on the here and the now because that’s all you can control, and it’s all you ever really have.
And now, I’ll dispense with the “Instructions”
- Stay safe
- Show some plate discipline
- Call your mother
