AFL Update: Oct. 15, 2023

Scottsdale got two in the 4th and an insurance run in the 6th to down Peoria, 3-1 for the Scorpions’ fourth straight win.

Just two Nationals appeared in the game:

● Israel Pineda caught the game and batted third. The 23-y.o. Venezuelan doubled and scored the first Scottsdale run before he was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the 6th.

● Robert Hassell started in centerfield and batted 8th. The 22-y.o. Tennessean drew a walk in the 5th and was caught stealing.

Scottsdale (7-4-1) has today off. The Scorpions will be home tomorrow, Tuesday, and Thursday and on the road Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. All but Wednesday are 6:30 p.m. starts, as Lee passes along word that the league has shifted most games to night for the cooler temperatures while holding day games on Wednesdays to give parents an opportunity to take kids to the games, since many school districts have early releases then.
