Rain shortened this one to six and a 1/2 innings as the Mets edged the Red Wings, 2-1. Roddery Muñoz labored through three-plus innings, allowing one run on four hits while walking three and striking out three. The loss went to Junior Fernández with a run on three hits over the 6th and the first two batters in the 7th before the umps pulled the teams off the field. Jordy Barley singled with two outs in the 3rd, stoled secondm and scored on the first of two Darren Baker singles. Blake Rutherford singled and Derek Hill doubled to round out Rochester’s five-hit offense.
Roster moves: LHP Joe La Sorsa recalled to Washington; RHP Odalvi Javier, LHP Lucas Knowles reassigned from Harrisburg’ RHP Rico Garcia assigned from Washington (released 9/1, resigned 9/5).

SSDL as rain shortened Altoona’s pummeling of Harrisburg to six rounds innings by a 9-2 count. Michael Cuevas had his second-shortest outing of ’23 with seven runs allowed (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over two innings. He struck out one while losing his eighth game. James Wood and Brady House hit back-to-back homers in the 4th while Terone Harris, Israel Pineda, and Jackson Cluff each had two singles. Roster moves: RHP Holden Powell reassigned from Wilmington.

The only game that was played in full was a 7-1 Cyclones win over the Blue Rocks. Kyle Luckham gave up all seven Brooklyn runs on eight hits (two HR) and a walk while striking out four in his 24th start. It was his seventh loss. Matt Suggs singled, took second on an error, and scored on Cortland Lawson single to break up the shutout. Daylen Lile doubled while Yohandy Morales singled to round out Wilmington’s four-hit barrage.

Fredericksburg vs. Delmarva – CNCLD
The rainout assured Fredericksburg of finishing no worse than .500 – one of just two affiliates (FCL Nationals) to not have a losing record in 2023.
Roster moves: RHP Riley Cornelio placed on 7-Day I.L.; LHP Gabriel Agostini recalled from the FCL.
