The IronPigs jumped on Wily Peralta for four runs in the 1st and cruised to a 13-4 smelting of the RedWings. Peralta finished with nine runs let in on eight hits and two walks while striking out two as he dropped his sixth game. Travis Blankenhorn, Drew Millas, and Jeter Downs each went 2-for-3, with Downs doubling twice, Blankenhorn once, and Millas delivering Blankenhorn twice with an RBI single.

In the nightcap, Rochester scored single runs in five of seven “ups” to edge Lehigh Valley, 5-4 and split both the doubleheader and the series. Paolo Espino turned in five innings of three-run ball on two solo HRs and five hits total while walking one and striking out six. After Andrés Machado and Tim Cate wobbled through the 6th, Gerson Moreno pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his third save. Blake Rutherford homered and drove in two while Travis Blankenhorn singled twice and walked twice to lead the Red Wings offense. Roster moves: RHP Daniel Mengden assigned from Washington (MLFA, released June 27 from Omaha); C Jacob Nottingham assigned from Washington (MLFA, released June 28 from Sacramento); C Luis Torrens released (July 1).

A four-run 6th broke a 1-1 tie as Harrisburg’s bats came alive late and sent Altoona home with a 9-2 loss in the game and a 4-2 loss in the series. Alemao Hernandez allowed just an unearned run on three hits and a walk while setting down six on strikes. He was rewarded with a no-decision. Jack Sinclair got the win despite giving up a run on two hits and a walk over an inning and 2/3rds. Terone Harris was the beer man in the Sens 10-hit parade, led by Frankie Tostado with a single and a three-run double, and Leonel Valera with two singles and a stolen base. Roster moves: RHP Odalvi Perez reassigned from Rochester; LHP Evan Lee placed on the 7-Day I.L.

The Renegades had it made against the Blue Rocks as they shut them out 11-0 on four hits in a game mercifully shortened by the rain. The two teams split the series. Andry Lara lost for the six time as he was strafed for six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out as many as you did last night. Will Frizzell had the sole extra-base hit while Darren Baker was the only batter to reach base twice. RHP Dakota Donovan assigned from Washington (MLFA, released from Rocket City Trash Pandas, June 21).

Salem busted out for four in the 3rd as they took the finale, 5-3 to earn a series split. Riley Cornelio dropped his fifth game as he was dinged for those four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over two and 2/3rds innings. Kevin Rodriguez did his part by getting out of the 3rd and putting up three goose eggs. The offense managed to get within one, thanks primarily to Branden Boisserie’s two-run HR in the 6th and Roismar Quintana’s RBI single in the 7th, which was the only hit in ten RISP chances as the FredNats left on 12 baserunners. Roster moves: C Wilmer Perez reassigned from Rochester.

The F-Marlins got their hooks into the F-Nats thowers early, scoring four in the 1st and three in the 2nd en route to a 12-1 humiliation. Johan Otanez put all four batters he faced on base before he was lifted with nobody out, one run in, and the bases loaded. Josue Carmona let in two of the three inherited runners and one of his own while getting out of the 1st. The FCL Nationals broke up the shutout with the help of a balk that took away a double play and enabled the F-Nats to score without a base hit. Cristhian Vaquero reached base three times with a single, walk, and a Robles while Nick Peoples had the only extra-base hit.
