The Bulls stampeded for three in the 7th and four in the 8th to turn 3-2 deficit into a 9-3 clipping of the Red Wings. Jackson Rutledge labored through three innings in his fourth AAA start, needing 76 pitches to record nine outs. He gave up two runs on a homer and four hits total while walking two and striking out three. The (dreaded) blown-save-loss went to Joel Peguero, who let in one inherited runner and was charged with five earned runs on four hits and three walks while retiring two (2) of nine batters faced. Rochester was an abysmal 3-for-16 with RISP, stranding ten runners. Roster moves: RHP Rico Garcia added to 40-man roster, recalled to Washington.

Harrisburg nearly pulled off winning this one with just three hits, but Bowie was able to force extras where they prevailed in 10 innings, 4-3. Dustin Saenz turned in five innings of two-run ball on two hits and two walks while striking out… wait for it… two. Reid Schaller was taken deep for the third BaySox run and his third blown save. The loss went Tyler Schoff as he gave up a two-out single after balking the winning run into scoring position. The Sens loaded the bases on two walks and a James Wood double in the 6th, setting up Frankie Tostado to clear the bases with a two-out double. Robert Hassell rounded out the three-hit barrage with a third-inning single.

A five-run 7th put this one on ice as the Blue Rocks were pulverized, 12-3. Bryan Caceres lost for the third time in four High-A starts, though he lowered his ERA from 16.38 to 14.19 with four runs over four innings. The beer was passed along to three relievers, each of whom gave up more runs than innings pitched. José Sánchez reached base three times with a double, single, and a walk while Branden Boisserie drove in two with a double during the Blue Rocks’ three-run 4th inning.

Four Fredericksburg pitchers combined to shut out Augusta, 3-0 on two hits. Both were given up by Jarlin Susana, who was not lifted after four innings for the fourth straight start, enabling him to win his first game of the season. He walked four and struck out four. Matt Merrill (2IP) and Bubba Hall (1IP) both earned holds while Marquis Grissom Jr. retired the side in order in the 9th for his fifth save. Wilmer Perez and John McHenry both went 2-for-4 to account for half the FredNats’ eight hits while Paul Witt drove in two in the 8th with the third hit in six RISP chances.

The F-Astros issued 15 walks and committed three errors to enable the F-Nats to score 14 times on seven hits, of which only two went for extra bases. Starter Bryan Polanco gave up three runs on five hits (one HR) and two walks over four innings. The win went to Niomar Gomez as the pitcher of record after the game became official. Cristhian Vaquero, Misael Mojica, and Winder Diaz each singled and walked twice.
