A six-run 6th for Rochester broken open a 5-4 game as the Red Wings beat the Bison, 11-6. Wily Peralta let in four runs on two homers and five hits total while walking four and striking out five to get the Jack Morris win. Luis Daniel Mengden tossed two scoreless to earn the hold. Thanks to two sac flies, Blake Rutherford was the beer man in Rochester’s 14-hit parade, led by Erick Mejia with a single and a homer, followed by Jake Alu and Matt Adams, who both went 2-for-4 with a walk and a double. The Red Wings were unusually efficient at 7-for-14 with RISP and left on just six baserunners. Roster moves: UT Jake Noll placed on the 7-Day I.L.

The Senators put on 16 basreunners but could only push across two in a 5-2 loss to the RubberDucks. Alemao Hernandez lost for the fourth times with five inning of three-run ball on nine hits, no walks, and one strikeout. The offense got all 11 hits – all singles – with Jacob Young and Trey Lipscomb both going 3-for-5. Young was the sole batter to get a hit in 11 RISP opportunities as Harrisburg left on (tell ’em, Nigel) 11 baserunners. OF James Wood went 0-for-1 with a walk….

Wilmington got it done with smoke, mirrors, and some pretty good pitching to break a seven-game losing streak with a 4-1 win. Andry Lara blanked Brooklyn for five innings on one hit and two walks for his third win. He struck out two. Marlon Perez lost the shutout in the 6th but Carlos Romero put up goose eggs in the 7th and 8th for his third hold and Holden Powell set the side down in order in the 9th for his first save at High-A. Like an ugly stripper, the Blue Rocks had just three singles on the night, scoring runs on an error, a sacrifice fly, a wild pitch, and a fielder’s choice. … while 3B Brady House singled and scored a run, as the A.L. beat the N.L. 5-0 in the 2023 Futures Game in Seattle.

The Shorebirds manhandled the FredNats for 8-0 shutout to take a 3-2 series lead. Jarlin Susana was taken deep twice for five runs allowed on five hits and four walk to lose for the fifth time. He struck out five and a hit a batter. Daylen Lile spared you from another singles joke with his 19th double and also drew a walk as Fredericksburg had four hits and five walks total in their fourth shutout of the season.
