Rochester won the battle of the bullpens (1R vs. 3R) to send Worcester down the pike again, 6-5. Joan Adon gave up four runs on four hits (two HR) over five innings. He walked two and struck a season-high of seven in the no-decision. Tommy Romero let in the the final run in the 6th but but took the woo out of the Sox in the 7th and 8th to get the “W.” Luis Cessa pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his third save in as many tries. There was no mystery to how the Red Wings came back in the late innings. Jack Dunn it with a solo HR in the 8th and two-out, two-run HR in the 9th, sending in Drew Millas who got aboard with his second hit of the night and Jeter Downs, who one was of two batters to reach on a fielder’s choice.

The Senators rallied for four in the 4th to erase an early 2-0 deficit as they doubled up the Curve, 6-3 to even the series at 2-2. Dr. Jeckyll Mitchell Parker turned in five innings of two-run ball on six hits and two walks. He struck out four while earning his 7th win. Tyler Schoff wobbled through the ninth, putting on three baserunners but letting none past third for his fourth save. Brady House and Trey Lipscomb both singled twice to lead the Harrisburg hit column while Robert Hassell and J.T. Arruda both walked twice to account for four of the eight walks drawn. Terone Harris was given the night off after signalling his displeasure with a raised finger to the Altoona bench at Hassell taking one off the helmet as Harris did on Tuesday. Jacob Young was hit by a pitch in the previous inning.

Wilmington scored three times on fielding errors as they doubled up Brooklyn, 4-2. Dannel Díaz got the spot start as Jake Bennett remains in witness protection. The Cuban native let in a run on two hits and two walks over three and 2/3rds while striking out six. Marlon Perez picked up the win with four innings of one-run ball while Holden Powell got the last four outs for his fifth save. Viandel Peña singled three times and scored twice while Jared McKenzie also reached base three times on two singles and a walk.

The Pelicans had their way with the FredNats pitchers again, scoring three in the 3rd and three in the 4th for a 9-1 smackdown. With Paul Witt unavailable, Mason Denaburg was trotted out to the mound and somehow worked around a leadoff triple in the 1st but reverted to the mean in the 2nd and 3rd innings. He would lose his fourth game and finish with six runs allowed on five hits, three walks, and a Victor Robles over two and a 1/3rd innings. Not that it mattered as the FredNats managed just three singles and a double and scored on a fielder’s choice in the 6th. Roster moves: RHP Jose Atencio placed on the 7-Day I.L., retroactive to 7/27; RHPs Moises Diaz, Miguel Diaz reassigned from the FCL.

Somehow, the D-Nats were able to score seven times on three single without any errors. Ten walks certainly helped as they dug themselves out of 5-0 hole in the 1st with a five-run 3rd and even took the lead at 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th before giving it back in top of the 8th. A walk, a wild pitch, and the third hit pushed across the game-winner. The blown-save-win went to Wilfry Peña while Jeffrey Familia got the last two outs in the 9th for his first save.
