The Red Wings put together a balanced attack with every batter reaching base in a 5-1 win over the Bulls. Joan Adon turned in his fifth quality start with six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and three walks. He truck out six while earning his third win. Andrés Machado came on in the 8th after Tim Cate issued a pair of one-out walks and snuffed the rally, then retired the side in order in the 9th for his third save. Drew Millas reached base three times and scored twice while Matt Adams homered to lead the 10-hit, four-walk offense.

Harrisburg led 1-0 and 2-1 before Bowie slipped in the knife with a three-run 7th and took this one, 5-1. Alex Troop balked in his lone run given up in six innings as the 27-y.o. allowed two hits and two walks and struck out four. It was his fourth quality start. Odalvi Javier got the blown-save-loss with the aforementioned three runs let in on two doubles and three hits total in his single inning pitched. Trey Lipscom singled and scored on the first of three Terone Harris singles while Brady Lindsly homered for the second run and the fifth and final hit for the Senators.

Andry Lara reverted to the mean as the Grasshoppers beat the Blue Rocks again, 7-3. Lara gave up a homer and three hits total but struggled with his command, throwing 39 pitches but just 20 for strikes in an inning and 2/3rds. He walked three and fanned one. Caleb Farmer drove in two of three Wilmington runs with a homer and a sac fly after subbing for a rehabbing Israel Pineda. The Blue Rocks went 0-for-4 with four runners left on base, with the first run scoring on a double play. Roster moves: RHP Brad Lord promoted from Fredericksburg; IF Murphy Stehly activated from 7-Day I.L., reassigned from Fredericksburg; RHP Richard Guasch MiLB rehab transferred from the FCL; C Israel Pineda MLB rehab transferred from the FCL.

Fredericksburg got the same memo as Wilmington and Harrisburg minus the homer as in a 10-4 manhandling by Augusta. Erik Tolman moved up a day to start on just six days’ rest but still walked four in three innings, allowing two hits and striking out three. The loss went to Franklin Marquez who put all four runners he faced on base and gave up a triple and homer. The FredNats managed just five singles but took advantage of six walks and two errors to score four runs, and might’ve scored more were it not for an abysmal 2-for-14 mark with RISP.

Juan Garcia’s solo HR was not enough for the F-Nats pitchers to work with as they lost the opener in extras, 4-1. Camilo Sanchez made his fourth start and turned in five innings of one-run ball on three hits and three walks. He struck out three. The loss went to Moises Diaz, who retired the side in the 7th but was lit up for three runs on a HR after a fielder’s choice put on a second runner. Garcia also singled as did Brenner Cox to round out the three-hit attack by the FCL Nationals.

In the “aftercap,” the FCL Nationals had three-run rallies in the 1st, 5th, and 6th as they split the doubleheader with a 9-2 smackdown of the FCL Mets. Genderson Zapata won his second game with both F-Mets runs let in on a two-run HR and four hits total over five innings. He walked none ans struck out four. Jose Colmenares got the party started with a three-run HR in the 1st and close out the F-Nats defenestration with a sac fly in the 6th. Angel Geraldo drove in two with a double in the 5th as the FCL Nationals took advantage of six walks to score nine times on just six hits.
