The Senators were shut out for the seventh time in 73 games, mustering three hits in a 2-0 loss to the Curve. Alex Troop gave up both runs on four hits (incl. HR #12) and a walk over five and 2/3rds innings. He struck out four while taking his org-leading seventh loss. Jacob Young singled and tripled while Robert Hassell singled, walked, and stole a base. The rest of the lineup went 0-for-23 with three walks and ten whiffs (11 total).

T.J. White’s Earl Weaver special in the 7th snapped a 2-2 tie and gave Wilmington a 5-2 lead. Alas, the Blue Rocks ‘pen allowed four runs in the last three frames to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, 6-5. The collapse took away a might-have-been win from Rodney Theophile, who turned in his first quality start of two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. The loss went to Marlon Perez, who gave up a leadoff single and then saw the baserunner get to third on two flyouts. After an intentional walk, a wild pitch sent in the deciding run. White drove in four total while going 2-for-3 and drawing walk while Jeremy De La Rosa singled twice and scored twice and got hit by a pitch to lead the Wilmington offense.

The FredNats dug themselves another early hole with two runs in the 1st and one in the 2nd, but couldn’t dig themselves out this time and fell, 4-2 to the Red Sox. Jarlin Susana went five full innings for the first time in his career, but gave up three runs on six hits and a walk to lose for the fourth time. Sammy Infante and Roismar Quintana both went 2-for-4 while the rest of the team went 2-for-24. Salem’s infielders were kept cool by 15 whiffs and turned two double plays to offset five walks drawn by Fredericksburg.
FCL Nationals, 8-10, 4th Place FCL East, 3GB
It was a short week for the FCL Nationals last week as they went 1-2 with a fourth game that was suspended (and will be made up this week). This week, it’s another off day on Tuesday with home games every day but Friday, when the F-Nats head to Port St. Lucie to play the F-Mets.

The D-Nats have won twice at home and will shoot for win number three (3) with home games tomorrow, Thursday, and Saturday – all against sub-.500 teams. Today and Friday, they play winning teams on the road.
