Blake Rutherford celebrated his return to AAA with a two-run, game-tying HR in the bottom of the 9th. Alas, a wild pitch and an error put Scranton-Wilkes/Barre back on top in the 10th and Rochester had no answer for an 8-7 loss. Joan Adon got the start, the no-decision, and a touch of bad luck as the 24-y.o. gave up five unearned runs (six total) after a two-out error extended his fifth and final inning. Jake Alu pushed his BA over .300 with four hits in five trips to the plate to lead the Red Wings’ 11-hit offense. Roster moves: OF Blake Rutherford promoted from Harrisburg; RHP Jackson Tetreault placed on the 60-Day I.L.

If you picked two pitchers with 6+ ERAs to combine on a one-hit shutout for the Senators, I sure hope you played the PowerBall, too. Mitchell Parker and Reid Schaller did the honors, with Parker giving up a single to lead off the game and then retiring 18 of the next 23 batters faced, with three walks and four whiffs. Schaller retired all six batters he faced, three by way of the K. J.T. Arruda was the sole batter not to march in Harrisburg’s 11-hit parade, which was led by Jacob Young reachin base three times in his AA debut and James Wood’s organization-leading 11th HR (4th at AA). Wilmington imploded in the 9th as they let in three runs on two hits, two wild pitches, and an error for a 4-1 loss to Jersey Shore. Jake Bennett emerged from witness protection to pitch four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a one walk while striking out two and hitting a batter. Thomas Ruwe lost for the second time in three appearances. Like an ugly stripper, the Blue Rocks offense had just five singles on the night, led by Jared McKenzie’s 2-for-4 night with one RBI. Roster moves: OF Cody Wilson demoted from Rochester.

The FredNats scored one in the top of the 1st to which the Pelicans answered with three. After that, it was a donut shop on the scoreboard as the neither teams scored the rest of the game for a 3-1 Myrtle Beach win over Fredericksburg. Riley Cornelio made it through five innings, with all three Pelicans runs let in on five hits and two walks. Daylen Lile doubled twice and scored a run while Branden Boisserie singled twice and drove in Lile. Geraldi Diaz added another single to round out the five-hit barrage.

Two walks and a three-run HR in the 9th gave the FCL Mets a 4-1 win over the FCL Nationals and the F-Nats their third straight loss. 18-y.o. Genderson Zapata started and went three scoreless inning, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four. Tyler Dyson issued the aforementioned walks and three total over and inning and a 1/3rd to take the loss, though an “assist” goes to Moises Diaz for surrendering the big fly to the first batter he faced. Nick Peoples gave the FCL Nationals an early 1-0 lead with his second HR while Blake Klassen reached base twice with a single and a walk. The rest of the lineup went 2-for-24 with two walks.
