The Rochester bullpen melted down for nine runs over the last four innings in a 10-5 loss to Syracuse, ending its six-game win streak. Paolo Espino went the first five and let in a run on a home run and three hits total. He walked three and struck out five and left with a 4-1 lead. Anthony Banda loaded the bases on a single and two walks then unloaded them on a triple for his second blown save. A sac fly put the Mets up 5-4. Derek Hill got one run back on an RBI triple but Tommy Romero and Alberto Baldonado teamed up to give up five more to put the game out of reach. Hill was a homer shy of the cycle and drove in three to lead the Red Wings offense, followed by Matt Adams with two singles and a walk. Roster moves: UT Jake Alu activated from 7-Day I.L.; 2B Darren Baker placed on the 7-Day I.L.

The Senators scored in four of their first five “ups,” then kicked a field goal in the 9th in a 13-4 defenestration of the BaySox. Alex Troop wobbled through six innings, giving up four runs on six hits (one HR) and a walk while striking out six. Odalvi Javier got the save for finishing the game with three scoreless with two walks one hit allowed while setting down four on strikes. No reverse Curse of the GBI for Donovan Casey who was the beer man in a 14-hit parade led by the trio of Jack Dunn, J.T. Arruda, and Blake Rutherford, who each hit a HR and combined for seven hits, seven runs scored, and eight RBI.

Wilmington put up crooked numbers in four straight innings to go up 11-0 and cruised to an 11-2 win over Asheville. Dustin Saenz evened up his won-loss recored with a quality start of one run on five hits and a walk while striking out four. Jacob Young took over the stolen-base lead with his 20th swipe while going 4-for-5 while the Blue Rocks smacked four HRs, with Matt Suggs collecting two of the longballs.
