The wheels came off the bus in the 6th as Omaha broke a 1-1 tie with three runs and held on for a 4-2 win over Rochester. Joan Adon gave up all four runs on six hits (one HR) and a hit batsman. He walked none and struck out four while suffering his fifth loss. Alex Call broke up the shutout bid with a sacrifice fly in the 5th that tied the game while Drew Millas led off the 9th with a triple and scored on a groundout. Call would collect the fifth and final hit with a two-out single but Travis Blankenhorn, who represented the tying run, grounded out to end the game.

A 7-3 lead proved to be too small for the Sens ‘pen to hold as they gave up four runs in the 6th and two in the 8th as the Flying Squirrels took the opening game, 9-8. Dustin Saenz’s second AA outing was much better than the first as he gave up the first three Richmond runs on five hits and four walks over five innings. He would get the no-decision, “courtesy” of Lucas Knowles, who coughed up a three-run HR and the aforementioned four runs for his third blown save. Reid Schaller couldn’t hold the 8-7 lead in the 8th, instead giving up the tying and willing runs for his second blown save and fourth loss. J.T. Arruda singled, doubled, and drove in four while Trey Lipscomb matched those totals but drove in two to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Two Harrisburg errors rendered all three Richmond runs as unearned… but they still count on the scoreboard, where the Senators were one run short in a 3-2 loss. Alemao Hernandez was charged with all three runs on five hits, including a two-run HR after Jackson Cluff’s second error in the 3rd. He walked one and struck out five in five innings pitched. Robert Hassell drove in Cluff with the first Harrisburg hit after the 26-y.o. was hit by a pitch and stole second. James Wood walked, took second on a groundout, stole third, and scored on tapper to third by Terone Harris. Wood rounded out the two-hit assault with a single in the 6th.
Aberdeen vs. Wilmington – PPD
They pulled the plug on this one fairly early (~4:30 p.m.) as (presumably) heavy rains rendered the field unplayable at Frawley Stadium. They’ll shoot to make it up tonight with a twi-night doubleheader.

The FredNats opened up the second half with their second shutout loss, 5-0 on the wings of the Fireflies. Riley Cornelio turned in five innings of two-run ball on three hits and two walks while striking two. Fredericksburg mustered just five singles and drew three walks but no batter reached base twice. Just three baserunners reached second base – none in the final four innings as the FredNats went 0-for-3 with RISP and left six men on base.

The FCL Nationals won took their third straight to get back to .500 with a 7-4 win over the FCL Marlins. 19-y.o. Camilo Sanchez go the start but gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks over four frames. 212-lb. Bubba Hall got the “W” after stranding three in the 5th and allowing an unearned runs on a hit, an error, and a sac fly in the 7th. Moises Diaz worked around two singles and an error in the last two innings to earn his third save. Lucius Fox reached base three times on two singles and a walk while Everett Cooper3 led the non-rehabbers with two singles in two trips to the plate as the the F-Nats racked up nine hits and four walks.
