Carter Kieboom’s two-run HR in the 12th ended the 194-minute marathon for a 6-4 win, extending the Red Wings’ win streak to six. Wily Peralta pitched into the 7th for the first time this season, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two. It was his second quality start and fifth no-decision. Five relievers combined for five and 2/3rds innings of one-run ball, with Luis Reyes letting in the free runner in the top of the 12th after Jose Ferrer put up goose eggs in the first two extra frames. Matt Adams and Luis Torrens led the Rochester hit column with two singles apiece while Nomar Mazara also went deep.

Harrisburg’s early 2-0 lead wasn’t enough as Bowie got single runs in the 3rd and the 8th to force extras and send the Senators packing, 3-2 in the 10th. Mitchell Parker struggled with his command Forrest Gump pause again, needing 84 pitches to get 12 outs. He gave up a run on a homer and five hits total while walking two and striking out six. It’d be tempting to throw Lucas Knowles under the bus for giving up the tying run on a homer in the 8th for the blown save) or Jack Sinclair getting the loss for letting in the free runner in the 10th. But aside from the two true prospects – Robert Hassell and James Wood, who combined for three hits, two walks, and the only extra-base hit – the rest of the lineup had just two singles and two walks and nine of the 12 whiffs.

Perhaps it was a good thing there were no cameras to capture the disintegration of an 11-8 lead as the Tourists trashed the Blue Rocks ‘pen for four runs for a 12-11 walkoff. Dannel Diaz was saddled with the blown save and the loss, but the blame really belongs to Tyler Yankosky who put the first three runners on in the space of 14 pitches, with only three strikes that weren’t hits. Diaz got three flyballs, but only two of them were caught as the last one left McCormick Park for a three-run HR. Andry Lara needed 71 pitches to get 12 outs, as he allowed the first three runs on four hits (one HR) and four walks. It was the fifth time in nine starts he failed to go more than four innings.
Caleb Farmer was the beer man though he did reach base on a walk as six Wilmington batters had multiple hits, with Viandel Peña leading the hit column with two singles and a triple for five total bases while Jeremy De La Rosa doubled twice and drove in two, as did Jared McKenzie with the only Blue Rocks HR. Roster moves: LHP Jake Bennett promoted from Fredericksburg.

Fredericksburg’s bats went cold and thus couldn’t bail out the pitchers as Delmarva stopped the win streak at eight with a 7-3 loss. Bryan Caceres stretched to 76 pitches, which did get him into the 5th where he hit two batters and was lifted after an Armando Cruz error scored a run. Sean Doolittle, who was the only FredNats pitcher not to allow a run on Thursday night, let in both inherited runners with a pair of singles and struck out two to take the loss. (The law firm of) Murphy Stehly singled twice, stole two bases, and drew a walk while veteran Wilmer Perez doubled in Stehly to account for the 1 in the 1-10 mark with runners in scoring position as the rest of the lineup went 0-for-22 with eight walks.
