Nomar Mazara smacked a three-run HR in the 9th and the Red Wings held off a late charge by the Mud Hens for a 7-6 win. Joan Adon didn’t make it out of the 4th inning again as Toledo pecked him for four runs on six hits and two walks over three and 2/3rds. Amos Willingham also got the benefit of Mazara’s big fly despite coughing up a run in the bottom of the 8th. Tyle Danish worked around a pair of two-out singles in the 9th to earn his third save. Jake Alu singled, doubled, walked, and scored two runs while Matt Adams singled, doubled, and scored a run to lead the Rochester offense.

Six consecutive batters reached base with two out in the 9th to turn a 5-2 deficit into Harrisburg’s fifth straight win by a 9-5 final. Jack Dunn had the honors of tying the game with a two-run single while Yasel Antuna doubled in the go-ahead runs with his third double (and 16th hit) of 2023. The 9th-inning outburst made a winner out of Tyler Beck, who pitched a scoreless 8th. Blake Rutherford led the Senators’ 15-hit parade with four singles, followed by Jackson Cluff’s single and two doubles, and Donovan Casey’s two singles. Every Harrisburg batter had a hit and six reached base multiple times.

The jig was up in the 8th and the lead was lost in the 9th as the Renegades finally found the win, 10-8. Chance Huff was sent packing early again as Hudson Valley strafed him for five runs on six hits over three innings. The blown-save-loss went to Tyler Schoff, who gave up the aforementioned three runs on six hits over the last two frames. Any sharp pains felt by the OFs in Harrisburg or Rochester might be attributed to voodoo to make room for James Wood, who posted his third straight multihit game with a single, a walk, a triple, and his 7th HR. Will Frizzell hit safely for the sixth time in eight games since returning to the level he should have begun the year at, driving in two while going 2-for-4 with a triple. Roster moves: C Israel Pineda assigned from Washington for MLB rehab.

Fredericksburg took advantage of a two-out, two-run error in the 1st and a wild pitch in the 6th to sneak past Salem, 5-3. Riley Cornelio gave up all three Red Sox runs on ten (10) hits and a walk while striking out six over four innings. He threw 77 pitches, 51 for strikes. Franklin Marquez put two goose eggs to get the win while Brad Lord threw three perfect innings to pick up the save. Branden Boisserie drove in two with a 4th-inning double and a sac fly in the 6th while Paul Witt plated the go-ahead with a double and scored twice to highlight the four-hit, three-walk FredNats attack.
