Rochester Red Wings, 5-9, T9th I.L. East, 5GB
The Red Wings’ bats finally showed up last week, enabling the team to take four of six from Buffalo while scoring 38 runs. Darren Baker is one of two players in the Nationals’ minors currently riding a six-game hit streak. Rochester hits the road for Norfolk this week with day games on Thursday and Sunday.

Harrisburg Senators, 5-4, T1st E.L. Southwest, 1GA
SSDL for Harrisburg as they won four against the Flying Squirrels though it was slightly more pitching than hitting with not one but two (2) games with only three runs allowed. The series win was the first for Harrisburg since last June (H/T Sens’ PR). This week, the Nats’ AA entry heads west to the Florida of the Midwest (Ohio) for six against Akron.

Wilmington Blue Rocks, 4-5, T3rd Sally Lg. North, 3GB
Thanks in part to Sunday’s shutout, the Blue Rocks’ offense is dead last in the Sally Lg. with 32 runs in nine games. If you didn’t know James Wood is the other Nats’ minor-leaguer with a six-game hit streak, then you might be on the Wilmington media team. It’s a trip up I-95 to Brooklyn this week for four weeknights and two weekend-afternoon games.

Fredericksburg Nationals, 3-6, 6th C.L. North, 2½ GB
Despite a five-game losing streak, Fredericksburg is only 2½ games off the pace in the C.L. North. Things could turn around this week (or at least be interesting) as the C.L.’s #11 and #12 pitching staffs face off this week in Central Virginia for six, including a middle-school matinee (warning for those thinking about playing hooky) tomorrow.
