Trevor Williams gave up all seven runs on ten hits, including a Rickey Henderson in the top of the 1st to lead off the game, over four and 2/3rds innings. He walked three and struck out four.
Jeter Downs got the start at 2B and reverted to the mean, going hitless in three trips to the plate while striking out twice.
Thad Ward pitched in relief again and put up a goose egg in the 7th with a 1-2-3 inning and two whiffs.
Just two watchlist players came off the bench:
- Jared McKenzie followed Alex Call in LF in the 7th and grounded out to end the 8th
- Elijah Green subbed for Victor Robles in CF in the 8th but did not up to bat
