Rochester Red Wings, 47-58, 9th place, 12GB, I.L. East
Rochester’s woes continued with another six-game sweep to extend their slide to 17 games – six by one run! This week, the Tides come to town to battle the Red Wings for 8th place.
Harrisburg Senators, 10-23, 6th place, 14½ GB, E.L. Southwest (40-62 overall)
The Senators haven’t had a losing streak as long as the Red Wings’ but they’ve just managed to spread out the futility a little more evenly. The current six-game slide is their third of that length. Should they lose tonight, that would be their second seven-game skid. This week, Reading visits for the first and only time this season.
Wilmington Blue Rocks, 17-19, 5th place, 4GB, Sally Lg. North (52-49 overall)
Wilmington returns home to play first-place Brooklyn with a chance to pull into a tie for the division lead if they can win five or take it with a six-game sweep. After this week, they’ll be on the road for three and a half series (another split with Aberdeen).
Fredericksburg Nationals, 24-11, 1st place, 6½ GA, C.L. North (57-44 overall)
The FredNats split against the second-place Wood Ducks, but only lost a ½ game in the standings. This week it’s the only visit by the Augusta GreenJackets, thanks to the Carolina League’s 2022 scheduling that creates such fun quirks like playing a divisional rival only once (Carolina) and one team not at all (Columbia).

The F-Nats rallied for three runs late but came up one run short, 4-3. Zach Burdi “worked on some stuff” for one turn through the lineup before giving way to Eris Flipo, who coughed up a two-run HR to lose for the second time in the FCL. Armando Cruz and Cody Wilson both singled twice while Roismar Quintana hit his team-leading 5th HR in his 38th game, which drove in two.

The D-Nats took advantage of two errors to score two unearned runs in the 3rd, which proved to be the difference in a 3-1 win over the D-Rockies. 18-y.o. Gustavo Rivas pitched into the 5th for the third time in seven starts, as let in the D-Rockies run on five hits and one walk over four and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out three. 17-y.o. Leodarlyn Colon picked up his first pro win with two and 2/3rds scoreless innings, allowing one hit, no walks, and fanning three. 19-y.o. Juan Garcia hit his 4th HR while 17-y.o. Cristhian Vaquero walked twice and stole two bases (nos. 12 & 13) to lead the D-Nats attack.
