The Red Wings remain moored in the Sargasso Sea as the Clippers sailed past them in ten innings, 3-2. Ponce De Leon turned gave up a two-run HR and three hits total over five innings. Alberto Baldonado, Pat Garrett, and Luis Avilán each put up a goose egg, as did losing pitcher Mason Thompson in the 9th before Columbus cashed in the free runner with a two-out single in the 10th. Jecksson Flores doubled, walked, and singled while Jake Noll singled twice to account for four of Rochester’s six (6) hits.

Bowie snapped a 4-4 deadlock with a two-run double in the 7th and held on for a 6-4 win over Harrisburg. Ronald Herrera gutted out six innings, allowing the first four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five. Francys Peguero took the loss, giving up the last two runs on two hits and a walk in his sole inning pitched. Andrew Young led the Senators’ hit column with two singles while Jackson Cluff reached base three times with a single, walk, and a Victor Robles.
Roster moves: RHP Dakody Clemmer reinstated from the Development List; RHP Andrew Lee placed on the 7-day I.L., retroactive to Aug. 2.

The IronBirds strafed Mitchell Parker and the Blue Rocks for seven runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 7-4 win. Parker allowed eight hits and a walk over just an inning and a 1/3rd as his ERA went from 1.59 to 2.40 in his second loss. Carlos Romero (3IP) led the trio of relievers who blanked Aberdeen for seven and a 1/3rd innings. Alas, the offense could only get back four, with Drew Mendoza launching his 6th HR for two runs in the 5th and José Sánchez driving in two with a 9th-inning triple.

Fredericksburg blew a 4-2 lead in the 6th but rallied for two in the 7th to take their fifth straight game, 6-5. Bryan Caceres gave up all five Wood Ducks runs on seven hits (one HR) over five and 2/3rds innings. He walked one and struck out seven. Bryan Peña picked up the win as he got out of the 6th and pitched a scoreless 7th while A.J. Candelario got the hold with a zero in the 8th and Cody Greenhill earned the save with a 1-2-3 ninth. Will Frizzell and Christopher De La Cruz both had three singles and an RBI while Branden Boisserie hit HR #3 to lead the FredNats offense.
Roster moves: LHP Pablo Adonis placed on the 7-Day I.L., retroactive to Aug. 2; RHP Karlo Seijas reassigned from the FCL.
FCL Nationals – OFF DAY
The F-Nats visit the F-Marlins today, then rematch tomorrow in West Palm Beach, then host the F-Mets on Saturday in what could be a battle for 1st place.

Behind five strong innings from 20-y.o. Bryan Polanco, the D-Nats clipped the D-Cards, 3-1. Polanco won for the fourth time with the lone run allowed on a home run and two hits total. He walked none and struck out eight. 17-y.o. Leodarlyn Colon closed it out with two goose eggs for his first career save. Winder Diaz singled twice, scored once, stole a base, and drove in a run to lead the D-Nats attack.
