Rochester 5 Worcester 1 (6½ inn.)
• Cavalli (W, 6-4) 5IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 3BB, 8K, HBP, WP
• Machado 1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Banks 3-3, RBI

• Fox 1-3, R, BB, HR, 2RBI

Rochester stopped its latest losing streak with a rain-shortened 5-1 win over Worcester. Cade Cavalli won back-to-back starts for the second time this season as he gave up the lone (ugh) Woo Sox run on two hits and three walks while striking out eight. Nick Banks singled three times in three trips to the plate while Andrew Stevenson singled, tripled, and drove in two to lead the Red Wings’ offense.
Roster moves: OF Josh Palacios recalled to Washington; IF Lucius Fox activated from the 7-Day I.L.

Altoona 7 Harrisburg 4
• Herrera (L, 4-8) 5⅓ IP, 6H, 5R, 4ER, 1BB, 4K,
• B. Gonzalez 1IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 1K, 2-2 IR-S
• G. Lara 2-4, 2B, E(12)
• Baker 2-4

The Curve got to Ronald Herrera and the Senators for five runs in the 6th to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 5-2 lead. Harrisburg got two back in the top of the 7th to make it 5-4 but the Harrisburg bullpen gave up single runs in both the 7th and 8th innings to extend the slide to four games with a 7-4 final. Herrera gave up six hits and a walk while losing his eighth game. Five Sens reached base twice, with Gilbert Lara and Darren Baker both going 2-for-4 to lead the nine-hit, four-walk effort.

Jersey Shore 2 Wilmington 0
• Parker 6IP, 2H, 0R, 2BB, 6K
• Candelario (L, 0-1) ⅔ IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 1K
• De La Rosa 1-3, BB
• V. Peña 1-3, 3B

Jersey Shore broke through for two in the 7th and made it stand up for a 2-0 shutout of Wilmington. Mitchell Parker tossed six scoreless innings and was rewarded with his 13th no-decision. A.J. Candelario was, um, pinched for both BlueClaws runs on a walk-single-triple sequence in between a popup and a strikeout to suffer the loss. Onix Vega singled with two out in the 1st, Viandel Peña tripled with two outs in the 2nd, and Jeremy De La Rosa, who was thrown out at home in the 1st, led off the 9th with the third and final hit before a double play and whiff ended the game.

Lynchburg 9 Fredericksburg 0
• Denaburg 2⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, 3BB, 1K
• Kirian (L, 0-1) ⅓+ IP, 0H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 0K, 2-0 IR-S
• Seijas ⅓ IP, 5H, 6R, 5ER, 0BB, 0K, 1-1 IR-S
• Wood 1-3, BB
• Infante 1-3

The FredNats were shut out, 9-0 on three (3) hits to lose their third straight game. Mason Denaburg made his first appearance in nearly a month, lifted after 42 pitches (20 for strikes) with one hit and three walks issued over two and 2/3rds innings. Michael Kirian escaped the two-on and two-out jam to end the 3rd and went to a 3-2 count on the leadoff batter in the 4th before he left with an apparent injury. Karlo Seijas came on to complete the walk and then throw in-game BP by retiring just one of seven batters faced. The loss went to Kirian because the offense went missing, blanked for the ninth time this season and the third time in August.

FCL Mets 5 FCL Nats 0
• S. Romero 1IP, 0H, 0R, 2BB, K
• B. Romero (L, 0-1) 1⅔ IP, 3H, 4R, 3ER, 2BB, 1K, HBP, WP
• Tejeda 1-4, 2B, E
• Gerardo 1-3

The F-Nats dropped their fifth straight game to reduce their tragic number to one as the bats remained out to lunch in a 5-0 shutout. Seth Romero emerged from witness protection (or rehab) as he made his first appearance since Aug. 27, 2021, with a scoreless inning with no hits and two walks allowed. Brayan Romero took the loss, giving up four runs on three hits, two walks, and a hit batsman over an inning and 2/3rds. Erick Tejeda doubled while Angel Gerardo singled. The rest of the lineup went 0-for-23 with 14 strikeouts.
Roster moves: LHP Seth Romero assigned from Washington for MLB Rehab.

DSL Nationals 5 DSL Colorado 1
• Colon 3IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 5K
• Carmona (W, 4-1) 3IP, 2H, 1R, 0ER, 0BB, 4K
• Vaquero 1-3, 2R, BB, 2RBI
• W. Diaz 1-2, BB
• J. Fernandez OF assist @ HP

The D-Nats scored twice in the 1st and three times in the 7th as they stopped a three-game slide with a 5-1 win over D-Colorado. Leodarlyn Colon got the start and tossed three scoreless, allowing one hit and one walk while fanning five. Josue Carmona picked up the win, his fourth, with one unearned run let in on two hits and no walks. Chrithian Vaquero scored twice and drove in two while going 1-for-3 with a walk to lead the D-Nats attack.
