Franklyn Kilome and company couldn’t throw the shutout necessary to make a 1-0 lead stand up as Rochester extended its losing streak to 16. Kilome allowed all three runs (two earned on) six hits (two HR) and two walks over five and 2/3rds for his third AAA loss. The Red Wing ‘pen did its job by taking the sails out of the Clippers for the final two and a 1/3rd innings but the offense did not, mustering just six singles and two walks. Nick Banks (two hits) and C.J. Abrams were the only two batters to reach base twice.

Aberdeen’s Cade Povich had a hell of a High-A debut as he took a no-hitter into the sixth and struck out eight. Alas, Yasel Antuna spoiled the no-no with a two-out single, but that would be it as Wilmington was shut out, 3-0 for a combined one-hitter. Dustin Saenz gave up all three IronBirds runs on seven hits and two walks over five and 2/3rds. He struck out five but lost for the third time in four starts for the Blue Rocks.
