After a leadoff single by David Dahl and a steal of second, the Red Wings had the tying run on 2nd in the 9th. This gave Dahl the opportunity to watch the last two outs of the game (strikeouts, natch) as the Clippers completed the six-game sweep (and 17th straight loss) with a 3-2 win. Cade Cavalli turned in five innings of two-run ball on six hits and three walks while striking out four in his 10th no-decision. C.J. Abrams doubled twice and scored a run when John Nogowski doubled him in for the one hit in seven RISP chances. Andrew Stevenson also homered, which tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the 8th. Newcomer Connor Sadzeck fit right in with a loss in his second appearance for Rochester, giving up the third Columbus run on two hits in the bottom of the 8th.

Harrisburg left no doubt about this one as Bowie sent 13 men to the batter’s box and saw nine cross the plate as the BaySox completed the six-game sweep of the Senators, 18-1. Alex Troop retired just two of ten batters faced as Bowie delivered his posterior to him with eight runs on seven hits and a walk, including two homers. Brian Gonzalez was the sole Harrisburg pitcher to not allow a run while Dondrei Hubbard made his pro debut as a pitcher with a 1-2-3 ninth, toggling between high-40s coolers and mid-70s warmers. Trey Harris led the hit column with two singles while Andrew Young broke up the shutout bid with his 7th HR.

The Blue Rocks scored in five of the first six innings to build a 9-0 lead that the bullpen couldn’t blow (though they gave it a shot) for an 11-6 win in the series finale. Lucas Knowles picked up the win with five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while fanning four. Yasel Antuna reached base four times and totaled six bases with his 12th double and 14th HR while stealing his 24th base. Onix Vega drove in three with a walk and two singles while Junior Martina delivered two runs with a pair of RBI singles to lead the Blue Rocks’ 11-hit parade.

A one-out, two-run HR turned a 3-2 lead into a 4-3 loss for Fredericksburg and earned Down East a series split. Andry Lara pitched into the 6th for the fifth time this season and remains winless in all five games. He let in two unearned runs on five hits and a walk while setting down six on strikes. The GBI curse struck again as Brendan Collins blew his first save while giving up two hits total over an inning and a 1/3rd. Will Frizzell drove in two with a single and a homer while Viandel Peña drove in his 41st run with a sac fly.
FCL Nationals – OFF DAY
Two weeks and two days remain in the FCL season with the F-Nats leading the division by 3½ games. Today, they’ll visit the second-place F-Mets for the one (1) time they’ll leave West Palm Beach this week.
DSL Nationals – OFF DAY
SSDL for the D-Nats in terms of the schedule. Their elimination number is four but a chance to finish at or above .500 is still within reach.
