Rochester broke up the shutout bid with two in the 3rd but couldn’t stop their losing streak, as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre completed the six-game sweep with a 9-2 smackdown. It’s the 11th straight loss for the Red Wings. Franklyn Kilome took the brunt of the beating, giving up seven runs seven hits (two HR), and three walks over four and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out six and hit a batter. Jake Noll, Riley Adams, Chris Herrmann, and Jecksson Flores each had one (1) single while Joey Meneses and David Dahl both walked twice to lead the “offense.”

Israel Pineda homered twice and drove in five to lead the Senators to a 10-5 win to split the series with the RubberDucks. Tim Cate struggled again in his third start since returning to AA, allowing all five Akron runs on nine hits (one homer) and a walk over four and 2/3rds innings. He stuck out four. Steven Fuentes got out of the 5th and added two more goose eggs to pick up the win, his 3rd. Rudy Martin led off the game with a solo HR and walked twice while Andrew Young singled twice, scored twice, doubled once, and walked once in Harrisburg’s nine-hit, 11-walk offense.

Four Wilmington pitchers combined to shut out Jersey Shore, 4-0, on four hits in the series finale. Dustin Saenz earned his first High-A win with five scoreless innings on three hits and two walks while striking out four. Gerardo Carrillo, Richard Guasch, and Jose Ferrer each fanned two while combining for four goose eggs. Kevin Strohschein and Jordy Barley both homered while Ricardo Méndez singled and Drew Millas doubled to account for the four Blue Rocks hits.

Salem vs. Fredericksburg – PPD
Rain claimed the finale, giving the FredNats a 3-2 series win. They’ll shoot to make this one up in September, as the two teams meet for the season’s final series in Salem.

FCL Nationals – OFF DAY
The gap between the F-Nats and the F-Mets has narrowed to two games after a 2-3 week. This week it’s three against the F-Cards, including a makeup doubleheader on Tuesday, two against the F-Marlins, and one against the F-Mets on Saturday.

DSL Nationals – OFF DAY
A 5-2 week has the D-Nats two games under .500 with a little more than three weeks to go. This week it’s a full slate (no off days), with home games against D-Miami, D-Colorado, and D-Cardinals and road games against the D-Giants Black, D-Cardinals, and the D-Angels.
