Rochester rallied for two in the 8th and three in the 9th, but like a 6’7″ center in the NBA, came up short, 6-5 to extend its losing streak to 14. Sterling Sharp lost for the fifth time, giving up five runs (three earned) on three hits (one HR) and two walks over three innings. Five Red Wings had multiple hits, led by Cole Freeman with three singles and Jake Noll with two doubles and a single.

The BaySox scored in five of the first six innings en route to a 14-3 demolition of the Senators. Luis Reyes reverted to the mean with authority, allowing six runs on six hits and five walks over four and a 1/3rd innings to lose for the sixth time at AA. Trey Harris and Rudy Martin both singled twice while Brady Lindsly homered in the 9th to lead Harrisburg’s ten-hit parade.

Wilmington battled back from a 3-0 deficit with a five-run 4th before the rains came and suspended play with two on and nobody out in the top of the 5th. They’ll resume play tonight in Aberdeen and then play a seven-inning game, at an officially undetermined time… but we’re guessing it’ll be the same time as last month when this happened. The IronBirds have only published ticket-related stories since September of 2019, so perhaps when the interns stumble into the office this morning, they’ll update the site.

The FredNats modest five-game winning streak came to halt as the Wood Ducks shut them out, 5-0. Jose Atencio took the loss with four runs let in on four hits (one HR), a walk, and two hit batsmen. He struck out three. Steven Williams and Branden Boisserie both had a single and a walk as Fredericksburg was held to three hits and three walks total.

The F-Nats broke open a 1-0 game with three in the 3rd as they doubled up the F-Marlins, 4-2. Jefrem Leon went the first three, giving up both F-Marlin runs on five hits and a walk. The win went to Jose Cedeno, who threw four perfect innings with five K’s. Jeisel Acosta led the hit column with three singles, followed by Jaden Fein with two.

The D-Nats got single runs in the 1st and the 2nd and made it stand up for a 2-1 win over the D-Cards. Doimil Perez got his second win with five innings of one-run ball on three hits and a walk while Michael Francisco cordero’d around a walk, an error, and a wild pitch in the 6th and a leadoff single in the 7th to notch his second save. Misael Mojica hit his third HR and walked twice to lead the D-Nats attack.
