FCL Nationals – OFF DAY
As noted in the comments, 19 of 20 picks from Washington’s 2022 Draft have already signed, with 20th Rounder JeanPierre Ortiz holding out. Ortiz is a commit to FIU, so it would likely take the Nats going well above slot ($125K) to persuade him to sign. For those interested in a player’s perspective on what it’s like to be drafted, former National Jacob Turner has you covered. (Caveat emptor: He’s now an “advisor to Athletes & Entrepreneurs” – this link ≠ an endorsement)

DSL Nationals 2 DSL Giants Black 0
• C. Sanchez 4IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Polanco (W, 3-2) 3IP, 0H, 0R, 1BB, 2K
• W. Diaz 2-3, R
• Contreras 1-3, 2RBI

Two D-Nats pitchers combined to shut out the D-Giants Black, 2-0, on one hit in a seven-inning game. Camilo Sanchez got the start and allowed the one hit over the first four innings. Bryan Polanco closed out the game with three no-hit frames, issuing one walk and setting down two on strikes. Jhoan Contreras singled in two runs in the 4th while Winder Diaz singled twice and scored once to pace the D-Nats offense.
