“Hold my beer,” said the Rochester Red Wings, then proceeding to blow leads of 6-0 and 8-5 en route to a 10-9 loss in 10 innings. Sterling Sharp got the start and got knocked from the box in the 4th after a five-run stampede by Buffalo. Three innings later, Matt Cronin let in two inherited runners and two runs of his own to wear his first blown save of 2022 and put Rochester in a 9-8 deficit. Jake Alu and Donovan Casey both singled in the 9th to force extras, where the Red Wings went in order and the Bison did not as Patrick Murphy walked three (one intentionally) to force in the winning run and take the loss.

After winning a slugfest on Friday night, the Senators decided to give a pitcher’s duel a try and edged the Curve, 2-1. Luis Reyes pitched into the 7th for the first time in 2022, allowing the Altoona run on three hits and three walks while tying his season-best with seven whiffs. Both Brian Gonzalez and Danny Dopico summoned the ghost of Chad Cordero, putting the tying run into scoring position before escaping the jam to earn a hold. Reid Schaller merely put the tying run with a two-out walk in the 9th to notch the save. Gilbert Lara doubled in the first run in the 3rd while Justin Connell and Israel Pineda had back-to-back doubles in the 4th to score the second Sens run. Harrisburg managed just six hits total, with Lara the sole batter to reach base twice as he also singled in the 8th.

Hudson Valley brought a no-hitter into the 8th where Kevin Strohschein singled to end it. Leandro Emiliani walked to bring the tying run up to bat. Strohschein advanced to third on a strikeout/passed ball and then walked off when Jordy Barley flew out to end the only scoring threat of the night in a 3-0 shutout by the Renegades. Rodney Theophile pitched five innings of two-run ball on six hits and a walk and struck out three in the loss.

Five Fredericksburg pitchers combined to shut out the Shorebirds, 7-0, on six hits. Pablo Aldonis turned in another five scoreless to win his second Low-A start as he allowed two hits, no walks, and struck out eight. Geraldi Diaz plated four runs while going 2-for-3 and a walk while Branden Boisserie singled twice, walked twice, and drove in a run to lead the Fredericksburg offense.

A two-out error by the F-Nats in the bottom of the 10th let the tying run score from 2nd and the F-Mets took advantage of the extra out to walk off with a 4-3 win. Mirton Blanco was pulled off the shelf and given his first start. He allowed the first two runs on four hits and four walks over two and 2/3rds innings. The loss went to Pedro González, who was charged with two unearned runs on three hits and no walks over the last two and 2/3rds innings. Roismar Quintana singled, doubled, and scored two runs while Jackson Coutts singled and walked twice to pace the F-Nats attack.
